8 years ago, i had my daughter. the man i had her with was my best friend of 15 yrs before i even slept with him.. one time! I was on the rebound with my ex and he was there through diffucult times all through out that relationship. I moved to florida when i was 3 months pregnant after living in boston my whole life but i knew it would be better to be with my family cuz even though, i was pregnant with his kid, i was not in love. He was sad but to this day, he has paid me 300 a month till she started school then it went to 400 a month til she turns 18. we do not go through courts or anything, just word of mouth. He will not come down to florida as he has never traveled out of state and will not, he is stubborn. I have been up there 3 times since she has been born so i have made the effort. His mom came down last year and stayed for 2 weeks, she meet my boyfriend and loved him, me and his mom are very close. His dad is the same way as him! r u friends with your childs dad?

I think its great to have a child with your best friend, it worked out great for me and he religiously pays child suppourt every month. I know for a fact, if i left the dad to my son now, he would not pay, i would have to fight him

The only problem i have with my daughters father is he will not come and see her, i have to go there which is crazy to me. he is afraid to fly but will not take a train or a car or bus either so really, he is only good for giving child support which is fine by me as my dad has many male figures in her life. she is extremely close to my dad for one

awww........I married my best friend of six years and we have a little girl. He's such a great guy. He's what others would catagorize as "nerdy", he's quiet and sweet. He's never lost his temper with me or yelled at me, no matter how naggy I'm being. He's such a great father and husband and I'm thankful for him. I dated a guy that was the exact opposite of him and that made me even more thankful for him. Us ladies out there with great guys like this should be so happy because we could have it really bad.

It sounds like your 8 year old daughter's father IS a good man. He takes care of his child! It also sounds like you still want him. Rebound or not. Why are you so inflexible that FLORIDA is the only compromise you were willing to make to be with this man? Anyway, you have moved on haven't you? You have another baby now so just enjoy your relationship as it is with your daughter's father... and count yourself blessed that he and his family support and nurture her.
