I definitely support medicinal marijuana use for medicinal purposes. 100%. It is an amazing drug for people that need it, and should be made more available to them.
I'm sure that almost every Christian will tell you that yes, its sinful because you are getting 'high'. BUT, I don't see it as that much different than alcohol. And Many Christians drink, so all the Christians that tell you that "pot changes your state of mind..." Well so does wine...and Jesus's first miracle was turning water into wine at the wedding at Cana. I think there is a time and a place of one would decide to do it.
If your doing it to relax or your doing it once in a while drinking it in a tea, I don't see much harm in it. I think everything bad in excess.
God did create the herbs for our benefit.
"Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so."
(Genesis 1:30 )
"Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith."(Proverbs 15:17)
What it all comes down to, is YOU and God. If you have a question, pray about it!

The verse that says obey the government is Hebrews 13:17

I always see Christians say "God hates the sin not the sinner." So I would assume you could smoke pot all you like and then when done you just have to say sorry and ask to be forgiven. I wonder if God finds it more offensive to smoke pot which He,Himself has put upon the earth for our use or to sit back and judge people even though everyone sins and makes choices to do things they know are a sin?

Smoking pot is stupid across the board. Being a christian and smoking pot only adds a hypocritical element to it...
Would you go to hell for smoking pot.. no. But what kind of witness is it smoking pot around friends who may not be Christian. You are going to have to make a decision here... do you knowingly sin to have fun with buddies, or are you going to make a stand for what you know to be right....
It's your choice.

Not likely to be OK. Check out the 1st commandment. "I am the Lord thy God. You shall have no false gods before me." Any addictive substance quickly becomes a false god, which quickly relegates the true God to 2nd place. Big problem. Plus, smoking pot is still illegal in most venues. Breaking civil or criminal law almost always involves breaking God's law as well, which is a sin. Sin is not OK for a Christian. Well, let's see. Is smoking cigarettes okay for Christians? No, no it's not. So I'm going to say that it's safe to assume (although the Bible doesn't say "Thou Shall Not Smoke Pot") that smoking pot is NOT okay for Christians.

The Ethiopian Coptic Church has a lot to say about this question.
There are a few organized Christian churches which advocate the use of marijuana. Your body is a temple, don't they burn incense in the temple? All plants were created by God for the benefit of mankind. Personally, I believe anything that helps you put your focus on God is okay.

I think "John" on the island of Patmos was smoking like a chimney. Anyway I find it interesting when people say the body is god's temple, but they don't have a problem with that temple breathing in diesel exhaust from busses and trucks, etc.

Of course not, God does not want you to do anything that will harm your body and He also wants you to obey the law. The Bible DOES tell you to be a good citizen. Smoking pot and being a good citizen are opposites.

I wouldn't think so, however, I feel smoking pot is for everyone. God put it here on this earth, so why not smoke it?
