You should have no great dificulty finding out what the qualifications are for yourself. Do your own research. Pharm Ds are responsible for every med that comes in or out of the pharmacy, whether that be a stand-alone, super market type or hospital pharmacy.

As a PharmD, you may be the manager or department manager. You may be responsible for tracking PT/INR results and calculating dosages and durations for Coumadin, along with retesting dates. All prescriptions and refills must be approved by you. You will make recommendations for med substitutions and your word is generally final. You will write some prescriptions yourself (hospital). You will have such a thorough understanding of pharmocology that you will prevent many med errors. You will be in a position to advise doctors, nurses and customers. Doctors DO listen to PharmDs. You will make $70,000 and probably more as a pharmacy manager. With the life and death responsibility you carry on your shoulders, you WILL deserve it.

Run a search on it and you'll see much more than I've not included here. You're a student -- Do your homework and find out for yourself.
