No,
all you need is an over-sized cowboy hat, a deep resentment for all black ppl, and a radical conservative disposition.
also,
being a complete idiot is optional, but it helps.

No I lived in Texas for ten years. I wanted a pair of rollerblades and a puppy. I never got the roller blades, but I did get the puppy. He was run over by a UPS truck 6 years later after escaping from the yard because I had left the gate open. To this day I still wake up in cold sweats thinking about what might have been.

No you actually do not have to have a fiddle.

I live in Texas and I have neither. However, I do like to sing karaoke. Does that count? Of course, maybe the fiddle auditors just haven't gotten to me yet.

Don't be so naive and clueless. Stereotyping the nature of people with in a state is pointless and I am sorry to say this but stupid. If you watch the news lately you would see that stereotyping people from a state can be incorrect. Just this past month, New York was named the friendliest state after years of being considered one of the rudest places to live.

Its mandatory for the prisoners on the infamous 'Texas Death Row', because the only way to get a 'stay of execution'
in that state is if the Governor likes your submitted song.
