First thing: I am not a doctor, so keep in mind that my advice is that of a layman.
Severe pain of any sort should nto be ignored. Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong that needs attention. However, in this age of modern medicine you need to balance off the desire to run to the doctor for every little pain against the cost of doing this and the practical reality that people sometimes get aches and pains that go away quickly and mean (essentially) nothing.
In you case I would let the severity of the pain be my guide. If you are significantly distracted by the pain and if it gets worse over time, I'd probably go see a doctor. If it goes away after a time, then I'd ignore it. If it comes and goes, eventually you might want to ask a doctor about it.
The possible illnesses that I can think of are stress headache, fatigue headache, or other headache related to environmnt, migraine (you'd know this because the headache would be debilitating), and on the dangerous end of the spectrum, aneurism (burst blood vessel in the brain.) Aneurisms are rare, especially in the young, but they do occur. I'm sure there are other possibilities.
In sum, if the pain is reallly bad, call a doctor and ask him/her what to do. If the pain goes away or slackens after a while, I'd probably sleep on it. You might try drinking plenty of water and getting a good night's sleep - poor sleep amnd stress can trigger headaches.
Anyway, good luck and feel better!

It sounds like eye strain, or a migraine. I get migraines and they are behind my eyes sometimes. I have to lay in bed with a cold wash cloth over my eyes or on my side with my fist pushed into the eye that hurts until the medicine kicks in. When you get home from school, if its still hurting, try laying in a cold, dark room without your contacts in and relax. Maybe go to sleep and see if that doesn't go away. If it continues, go see a doctor for a diagnosis.
Also, if you sleep in the same bed with someone, I would be asking if their elbow hurts. Maybe you were hit in the eye by them or someone else.
