I have an inner ear problem and get motion sick just riding in the car. I worked for an airline and traveled quit a bit for meetings and what not as well as personal travel. I fould that Ginger tablets work best and dont make you drowsy like Dramamine. You can get them at most health food stores. You can't stop motion sickness, but you can try to prevent it. If you get it bad enough, there is also a patch that your dr can prescribe that works well too. The main thing is that no matter what remedy you use you take it or apply it well in advanced.
Like SBR said, get a seat over the wing, or as close to it as you can. Stay away from the rear of the plane. But sit as close to the wing or as far forward as you can possibly get.

Alternative treatments for motion sickness have become widely accepted as a standard means of care. They include herbal therapy, acupressure, and homeopathy. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) in its various forms is often used to calm the stomach, and it is now known that the oils it contains (gingerols and shogaols) appear to relax the intestinal tract in addition to mildly depressing the central nervous system. Some of the most effective forms of ginger include the powdered, encapsulated form; ginger tea prepared from sliced ginger root; or candied pieces. All forms of ginger should be taken on an empty stomach when treating motion sickness. There are several homeopathic remedies that work specifically for motion sickness. They include Cocculus, Petroleum, Ipecacuanha, and Tabacum.

don't eat much dairy before getting on and off the plane, (especially butter) and there is this drink you can get, it's all natural and it's called airborne, it doesn't taste too bad. I know it works though because I went on a trip with 4 people and my fiance and I used it and didn't get sick where as the other people did...

Dramamine is now over the counter or the patches but you need a prescription from your doctor for that.
