He is very joky joke with me, is attentive but never flirts. It has been a few weeks now and I wonder should I ask him over to dinner, out to dinner and/or cocktails or just keep up the "hint hint" game.

you may want to make a move... but I wouldn't go as far as dinner or anything like that. Talk about something like movies, ask him what his favorite kinds of movies are... are there any movies he's been wanting to see. When he names one... say... wow I want to see that one too... why don't we go see it together? Then see how he reacts. Most likely he'll respond favorably. Some of us guys are really really really shy and do need a bit of a kick in the pants.

go ahead and make the first move, while i was in high school i had the biggest crush on this gorgeous guy, we would talk to each other and smile a lot...but neither one of us had the balls to ask the other out...in the end we both got in relationships and when we saw each other again we had a long conversation and realized we had both been afraid of being turned down by the other

Maggie, I don't know how old you are, but I can tell you this....
The older I get, the more I realize that life is too short to be shy. Sometimes, you just have to go after what you want, because otherwise, you may never know.... and who wants to wonder "what if" for the rest of their life??

I say- Go For It..... what do you have to lose??
