I think it is perfectly fine that you are interested in your future. I don't think you need to obsess over it though. Keep in mind that you have many life experiences ahead of you and most likely will change your mind many, many times before you actually choose and train for a career.

The best advice I have ever heard (and did not heed) was to choose something you love. If you do that, you will have the drive and passion to be successful. It does not matter if others think it stupid or unlikely, if you feel strongly enough about it to pursue it passionately.

In the meantime, realize that this phase of your life is about discovery rather than deciding.

Madison , eleven is not too late! You need to work out what you like and what you're good at ( they can be two different things!). Talk to your parents, your teachers and your friends. Search on Google for occupations and see if anything gets your attention. Also, narrow it down by working out what you don't like. For example, there's no point in becoming a nurse if you can't stand the sight of blood! Maybe see if it's possible to check out workplaces to see what it really like and not what you think it would be like. Good luck! P.S. Love the name Madison!

You don't have to decide now! Try out different things while you're still a kid, find the things you like, follow them for awhile and see if you like it enough to keep doing it. I think the majority of grown ups are something different than they thought they would be as a kid.

If you love helping animals, maybe you'll be a vet.
If you love helping people, maybe a doctor or a fire fighter.

Just spend the rest of your childhood doing things you like doing and eventually, when you're older, it'll be clear what it is you'd like to do!

Well, honey, you still have time to decide...and take your time, for now. Find your passion, the one thing you like doing more than anything...and see if you can make a career out of it, and what kind and how much education you need to achieve it....the world is still your oyster, little one, don't try to grow up TOO fast

you still have alot of time. When you find something you are interested join a club or something at school to see if you really enjoy. I didn't know what I wanted to do until I was in college... and still most people I know are swtiching careers late in their college career. It doesn't really effect you that much, and it makes you more well rounded because you've explored many topics and majors.

live for today, you might never grow up, life is not guaranteed. tomorrow is not guaranteed. be nice to your parents. try not to do anybody any harm. when i say live for today, i don't mean live just for your own pleasure, i mean try not to do things that you will later regret. you only have one chance. this is it. your thoughts about the future should consist of not looking back with regret about wrong things you've done, unlike so many, including me.

don't think that your future is just about making money, what high paid job you will have, etc. there are more important things.

honey don't worry about "growing up". That'll all happen in time, and you'll start to feel differently about it as time goes by. Just enjoy being eleven.

Well I say relax, you're 11. You have plenty of time to figure out what you like to do and what you want to do when you're older. Just think about what you really like to do in your spare time. Don't worry, you will figure it out.
