Why is it improper? I don't see anything wrong with it...a new baby is still a new baby...second or tenth, doesn't matter.

You have a baby shower for every birth, theres always something new to give, and baby showers are for the mother to as a way of saying your doing a great thing, you are welcoming the baby with gifts.

I've never heard of the first baby gets a shower rule. All babies should be welcomed in the same fashion. I thought the gifts were for baby, not for Mom???

I have heard of the first baby rule. Thankfully, I don't think many people adhere to it. I had a baby shower for both of my children. I agree with the statement, " the gifts are for the baby not Mom". Go for it.

I disagree.....I think if the baby is a the opposite sex from the first.....these days there is nothing wrong with having a 2nd shower.

I had one for three of my children. However, after the first one since I already had the basic items we did it after the baby was born. That way it was a more of a celebration of the birth. And it let me show off the babies!
