If you are referring to a grilled cheese sandwich, try slicing thin slices of cheddar cheese and putting it between two pieces of bread then spread a light coat of mayonnaise on each side of bread and put on griddle/shallow frying pan (medium heat). Let it brown on one side and then turn to other side. You can also cover with a lid to make the cheese melt faster but be careful not to burn.

Try to find a good unusual bread such as 'olive bread' or a simple 'real french bread' made by artisans, slice about 1/2 inch thick, toast slightly, THEN put whatever cheese you like (I really like a Cambozola triple cream~it is a blue veined cheese) on top of pre-toasted toast and put it in the broiler just until cheese melts. Try different breads with different cheeses. It is really fun to experiment with new cheeses that you haven't already tried. Good Luck and have fun trying !

What I do is of course you are going to put 2 slices of bread in the toaster. When the toaster pops up you take out the bread and seperate them and put a slice of cheese on one of the slices, then you are going to put the piece of bread that doesn't have the cheese on it on top of the other. Then I put it in the microwave just long enough to melt the cheese. That is so good.
It doesn't really matter what brand of cheese that you use as long as it is sliced. All microwaves are different but I usually put the time on for 20 seconds and the cheese is usually melted.
Good luck.

White Lancanshire cheese it really the best. Though by all means not limited to this type only. Next you can have white cheddar and if you really want to go for something a little different Christo's ( less salty) Halloumi with slice tomatoes on top! Toast your bread, spread with a little butter, add cheese and leave to melt under grill. Guaranteed all delicious!

Think your reffering to toasted cheese.
Very simple. Toast White bread under broiler in oven on one side, turn over and place a piece of American Cheese on bread and toast until cheese makes a large crown bubble and remove from oven.
Been making these for more years then I care to remember. Great with a glass of milk.

If you want something a little bit different . . . . .
toast a piece of bread;
top it with 1/3 cup of apple butter
top that with a slice of sharp cheddar
stick under the broiler (toaster over should work too) until the cheese begins to melt.

when I was a kid I used a toaster oven, just two slices of american cheese on two pieces of bread. put them in the toaster oven until the cheese melts. It has been a long time, but I loved it. I would probably use a different cheese now due to personal preference. have fun!

Toast sliced sourdough bread in the toaster or in the oven at 250 degrees. Put American cheese on it when toasted. Sprinkle some chopped chives on top. Yum!

All my years,and never thought of this .We now call it Emily cheese toast,,in honor of my new daughter-in-law.
Toast bread in toaster,put cheese inside of toast,slap it in the microwave less than 30 seconds,(just experiment with the time frame,or until cheese melts in your microwave),,and.then...perfect and FAST Emily cheese toast!!!!
