I make my own cakes from scratch, but my family say they are getting fat by eating them! is there a website or something that can show me the calorific content of my homemade goodies?

Use splenda and half whole wheat flour. Sorry I don't know the website. Cut back on the icing and only use about half as much to ice the cake.

Add up the calories in the total ingredients for the whole recipe, then divide by number of cakes / slices. Quite time consuming to begin with, but if you write it down you'll know for next time.

Alternatively, follow a recipe where i's already counted for you, eg. Weight Watchers.

As above - add everything up and divide by the number of slices. I reckon you'd be better off just going for a run or long walk before though - works up an appetite!

I have often wondered that myself and the logical answer to that, in my opinion, is to actually count the calories in all ingredients and then add them up and divide them by the number of slices of cake? Haven't tried this, don't even know how feasible it is - but seems to be the only way...

idk, but i would say out of all the pies its pretty low cal, if you use the non-fat and low cal versions of Cream and stuff. The lowest Is pumpkin Pie! if you dont eat the crust it could only be like 100 calories a slice. (big slice)

AS STATED ABOVE: APPLESAUCE INSTEAD OF OIL / BUTTER. ADDS FLAVOR, MOISTURE AND YOUR FAMILY WILL NEVER KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. PLUS IT IS ECONOMICAL AS WELL OVER OIL / BUTTER.
