Muslims say that The Quran is the word of God. They also believe that The Bible is the word of God, but since The Quran was sent after it, humans should follow it because it is the final testament.

What would people lose if they actualy studied Islam seriously, and that if they discover that the Quran IS the word of God, they follow it. Doesnt that sound more logical than being closed minded about Islam?

What does anyone have to lose if they studied anything? Fear.

But, onward we go.

The Quran was sent after the bible, but not to replace the bible, but to continue it.
Religion, to my thinking, is like school. With each coming of a Manifestation comes a new grade.
Abraham brought in one lesson, say 2+1=3.
Christ didn't abandon that lesson, but built on it, say 2-1=1.
Muhammad, like Christ, continued with 2x1=2.
And, now comes Baha'u'llah with 2*/*1=2.

If we are wise enough know that our children, newborn out of the womb, can't yet grasp advance calculus, what makes us think God would be foolish enough to give His children Advance Spirituality right off the bat?

Not sure if I answered that or not.

Anyway...

The Chronicler

oh, and according to the Idiots Guide to Religions, Baha'i is the fastest growing religion in the world and the most wide spread. In only a hundred years they are in over 200 countries around the world. There are Houses of Worship on every Continent.
But, seeing as they are simply the continuation of the past religions, I suppose that means we are all the fastest growing and the widest spread.

People wouldn't lose much studying the Quran/Islam, but it is a matter of truth. The Jewish Torah and the Christian Bible have an amazing historical accuracy. Both of those books disagree with the Quran, which can you believe? If God is eternal, which all of the books claim, then he is unchanging. Why would He write a new book with different ideas from the originals?

Do you think you are a pretty good person? I'm sure most of us would, we would attribute the fact that we haven't murdered or anything as fact that we are basically good. How are you doing with the 10 commandments? Have you ever told a lie? Have you ever stolen something, a package of gum, anything? Have you ever lusted after someone else? I'm going to guess that if you are upright and breathing you will have said yes to all of those. I know I have. That is only 3 of the 10 commandments! God says the payment of sin is death. There will be punishment for your actions. You can try to say that you have done other stuff that is better, but you have still done the crime. If a murderer gives a lot of money to charity shouldn't he still be punished for what he did?
The amazing thing is that God loved you and wanted to be with you for eternity so much that he sent his own son to pay the price for all of your sins if you will just accept the gift. If you want the truth open up your Bible. Find out more at http://www.wayofthemaster.com/

If you studied Islam seriously, you would become more aware of the practices of Islam. You would discover the common threads of religions based on the Bible and Islam and the many differences. Then you could discover which is right for you.
If you choose practicing Islam that is different from studying it, you enter a very different religion from most based on the Bible, however like any religion the ethics are based on each individual
practitioner.

What Human Being wants is Pleasure, Yes, Pleasure, Pleasure, Pleasure.

If to say there are Serious Human Beings Who are Serious in finding out about their Pre-Destinations, then they are Muslims, We are very Serious in the Hereafter, that is we don't care about this Short Life, yes it is Short, Now, no one ever dream of living more than 150 years in this world, this is not even an hour to God. Those people are very much interested in this world, that they don't like to even talk about death.

If for example, someone could die and come back, then all would have become Muslims except those who are not lucky among Human Beings...

Thanks be to God, Islam is now the Fastest Growing Religion, everyday, we have new converts, in Africa, Asia, Europe, America, Australia, any where on earth.

Have peace brother....

hi,
it is said in John 1 that 'in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the word was God'
God is the word. Jesus said that 'I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me' (John 14:6 NIV)

Apart from the Bible, which is God's own spoken word, i do not agree to the study of any other book such as Quran, Book of Mormon etc.

God's word says not to add or subtract from his word. The Bible was written by prophets or men chosen by GOD himself and they received guidance and inspiration to write it.

I don't think that is the same situation with the Quran because God does not contradict himself.

The only way to God is through Jesus, and surely, Jesus ain't a Moslem but the son of God, the one we all aspire to be like.

Let's not think too much on the line of religion, but on doing living God's way and letting his mighty will be manifested in our lives.

God bless you.

Well they cant both be the word of God. Jehovah was the God of the Jews, Jesus tells us to Love the Lord your God with all you heart and love your neighbour as your self.
The quran says to Kill the Jews and Christians and to behead them.
Now there are two conflicting natures here so there can only be ONE GOD.
Allah has a wicked, scheming and deadly nature, and Jesus calls us to life.
I have read enough of the quran to know how wicked it is.
In Surah 47:4 Muslims are commanded by Allah to smite the necks of all those who do not accept the teaching of Islam.
No this is a wicked and evil religion and it is a religion of the devil himself.

"What would we lose if we studied Islam seriously?"

The answer is:Human life.

I can also tell you what we would gain: More Islamics that want to kill "The Infidels"---- (i.e; Any human being who does not believe in Islam, or the Totalitarian and Barbaric way of life.

I could care less what Islam is, and what it stands for. All I know, is buildings have been blown to hell, innocent people have been blown to kingdom come, and a culture bombed destitute. And no one, atleast I know, likes the dark ages, or the incomprehensible pain of losing a loved one in the name of such a detestable thing as "Jihad". I don't even want to imagine that, but it is a reality in our nation now.

If they want to pour acid on thier women for whatever crime, proceed to cut thier clit's off, and behead anyone who doesn't subscribe to thier overwhelming aroma of B.S., thats them.

But just because we have a better way of life, and live in a nation that is founded on God, while having respect for each man's religion, and the value of human life, doesn't mean they have to be jealous. We are a free country. If they wanted on the boat, all they had to do was ask.

Thats my .02

Jesus did the perfect sacrifice so every thing is complete,DONE.
So we do not need the Quran or any other thing.
By the way,I'm not a fool.Muslims can say what ever they want. But for real they DO NOT believe in the whole Bible, they only believe in some parts of the Old testament and just a very very few parts of the New Testament. They DO NOT believe than Jesus Christ is LORD of lords,KING of kings, the SON OF GOD,"THE SAVIOR".
Now I gonna tell you what we would lose: Just OUR SOUL!.
JESUS LOVES YOU!

There is much to lose by studying Islam. I say this as one who has read much of the "holy" Koran (I felt slimy after I was finished. It still gives me nightmares.)

Jesus warned us that many false prophets would come after he left the earth. He said we could recognize them by their "fruits" -- you only have to turn on the television to see the "fruits" of Muhammad's false teachings.

The Old Testament explains that a person who is mislead into following a false prophet will share in the false prophet's punishment. So it pays to take the straight path and enter by the narrow gate.

Paul wrote in Galatians 1: "6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed."

Muhammad lived and died in his sins 500 years after the Bible was given. I truly believe he was a false prophet sent by Satan to mislead as many people as possible into Hell.

Why study the Koran when there are so many other things you could read that would be more helpful?

Peace and love in Jesus.

Believe me if anyone just search for the truth about Islam they will follow it, that's why its the fastest growing religion in the world. But there is some people who keep listening and watching the media which gives them the wrong picture about Islam.
