Immortal soul is a false teaching and originated in early Babylon. Ecclesiastes 9:5 says that the living are aware they will die but the dead are aware of nothing. Acts 24:15 says there will be resurrection to life or to judgement. Jesus showed some of the power and authority he has been given by Jehovah God. He resurrected Lazarus from the dead. This showed what he will do when his Kingship encompasses the earth. At that time their will be billions brought back, over a period of time, from the dead. As Acts 24:15 brings out to a resurrection of everlasting life or to be judged accordingly to their actions, attitudes in paradise, here on earth.

Everything material is ultimately "dust" anyway, including skeletons, and even our solar systems! Nonetheless, it is only man's physical body that is dust, not the spirit or soul which is of another constitency altogether! And so the real man is not dust but spirit; only his vehicle, the body is!

We are all children of the Earth, formed of the Earth, and we return to the bosom of our Mother, and yes, skeletons decay. If they didn't, we'd be overrun with them. Sometimes skeletons turn to stone and then they are called fossils.
My question is, if even your God said you're supposed to return to dust, what's with all the embalming and hermetically sealed coffins??

Flesh decays and turns to dust within a short while. Bones can take an eternity to disintegrate.

Observation. It is all observation. "God" didn't form people from dust. People observed that decayed bodies start to turn to dust and made the leap backwards. People aren't really made from dust.

It does but much more slowly as compared to other parts of the body. Skull and other bones in the skeleton also decay under the earth and the decaying process is faster in tropical region as compared to cold countries.
