Yes you will, and without the damage to your knees and joints that running that can cause. You won't burn as many calories as you might when jogging, but as long as your heart rate is elevated you will receive the cardiovascular benefits.

Being fit is a comparative term . If walking briskly on the treadmill takes you to a point of hyperventilation (being short of breath) then you will obviously loose fat from your body. Jogging on the treadmill will be much more effective and you will be fitter. Also it depends on how long you use the treadmill, varying the intensity is always good. But if you really want to look good and maintain the fitness you will have to start some amount of weight training .

Yes, as long as your heart rate is up. Check it often while you are fast walking on the treadmill compared to when you are running on the treadmill. Compare the two. Fast walking will do it for you, just might take longer.

I found that I got a lot more out of my walk on the treadmill if I increased the incline and kept the speed at a moderate to quick pace.

Well you will be fit since you are doing brisk walking. But nothing is better than runing on a threadmill. If your doctor or your instructor has asked you to run the threadmill do not walk. You burn more
fat while running and also build up stamina.
Use proper cushioned soled shoes and do not jerk your knees while running on the threadmill.

You do not need to force yourself to run to get fit; just start comfortably and consistently. When your body is ready for it, you can start training yourself to run. It's more important to exercise consistently than to run (and risk hurting yourself) once every blue moon.

yes!ofcourse..simply because 15 min of running is also equivalent to 30 to 40 min brisk walking...just take it this way..slowly but surely,but dont 4get to drink at least half glass of waer befor beginning at ur exercise..ok..
