Is this a joke??!!
If you want loads of attention from your colleagues then go for it, I'm sure the old lady that's been there for 40 years will come over and give you a hug and brush her whiskers against your face!!!!

Ignore the wanking fucker that wrote that, and no I don't care if I get a disciplinary for swearing, racism disgusts me.
Could you maybe go to the toilets? Go into a cubicle and if you need to cry, cry - it'll only hurt more if you hold it in. Then splash your face with cold water, tissue dry, grab a coffee and go back to your desk. You can't always put on a brave face, sometimes you've just got to give yourself some space to let your emotions out.
I hope you feel better soon hon :o)

Generally, no--I'd avoid being seen crying by my boss and/or co-workers. It could hurt your chances of being promoted somewhere on down the line--they might not think that you're "management material"--as unfair as that might be. Even if one is a woman (and it's more acceptable for women than for men to cry in Anglo culture), a BUSINESSwoman doesn't want to let anyone think that she's "weak" in any way.
If you are depressed-in-general, then try to get a referral to a psychologist. And if you're depressed about something specific (your parent is sick/your dog died/you broke up with your GF), then try to find a friend outside of your office to help you get through this crisis (unless your best friend happens to work there, too, and you know that s/he can be trusted to not blab your personal business around the office).

As far as I'm concerned, go ahead. Crying is supposed to release certain neurotransmitters that make you feel better. When I was depressed, I felt like crying all the time, but I couldn't bring any tears. And who cares what others think. The good people at work will want to know what's wrong and want to help you. Are you depressed? If so, then visit my webpage for more info: http://www.geocities.com/seabulls69/AntidepressantThatWorks.html

what is a p-a-k-i?
And go cry in private, unless crying will get your way for something at work.
I cried at the New York Department of motor vehicles once because there were not going to let me bring a used car I had just bought in my home state of Connecticut because my drivers license had my maiden and married name, and my insurance card only had my married name on it.
It had been a very, very long day with a lot of solo travel by car, cab, and boat, plus my husband had to have emergency surgery the day before, so I was at the end of my rope.
I'm pretty private with my emotions, so I started to cry outside, but then figured out quickly that I wanted them to feel REALLY BAD for giving me a hard way, so I let it flow!
Long story short, they let me bring the car into Connecticut. grin.
What was the question?....

May be not.
Go for a corner? or Toilet I would say.
I actually do cry easily. Quite emotional that I meant.
Sometimes I just couldn't help. I cry at that public place instead of going for a corner or where on earth so ever. But then people are so busy body u see. Sometimes we just can't share thinngs with almost everybody but some close peeps.
So yea, stud. You go for some privacy, I suggest.

Instead of crying, may I suggest an extra loud EVIL laugh, this will cheer you up, but still leave everyone at work thinking you're a bit mental, and paving the way for a future Doctors not and months at home with Stress on full pay.

I think you should go for a walk and cry during your walk, and come back to your desk after 10 minutes feeling MUCH better.
unless you want someone to talk to, then if you start to cry at your desk someone is probably gonna talk to u about why you're crying.
but i think the walk option is better cause it will make you feel better .

Crying in front of friends all well & good.
They may even offer a cuddle.
U feel like crying, why is there something wrong?
Get it sorted out & take no notice of the idiots.
Their loss not yours!

Crying has no place in the work environment and could impact your future successes. Go in private, get out of the office. Have your breakdown and then come back.
