When discussing food service management, and someone asks if you have experience in "table service", it's referring to full service, sit down restaurants where the patrons are seated, and then served.
The alternate to table service would be "counter service", as in fast food, or "curb side service", as in a drive-in setting.

Table service is the art of preparing food for the patrons right at the table. It is why I learned how to make a caesar salad which I still do. There are some dishes which can be prepared in the kitchen, warmed by the table & flamed for a special presentation.

It is you take the order, then deliver the food to the guest's table. Then keep going back to see if they need extra drink or food or dessert. And to ask the guest if everything alright.
