The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.
The Church specifically says, "They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."
With love in Christ.

No, it is not OK for Catholics to support or accept gay people. If you are unsure, read the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and you will see that homosexuality is totally against the teachings of the church. You might also want to read "Humana vitae" (I think that is the title) by the late Pope John Paul II.

certainly, not only is it OK, but it is the command of Jesus himself when he said to love everyone. Would you accept someone if they had stolen candy from a store when they were young? Would you accept someone who had a child out of wedlock? Surely you would, so why not someone who is gay? Love the person, not the sin.

I think that it would be OK to accept gay people if you were catholic, Jesus taught tolerance, you would just be trying to be more like Jesus. Right?

Of course.. what would Jesus do??
He'd say "go and sin no more", for any kind of sexual impurity.
...and he'd accept them, but you never found someone who continued in their sin, being able to fellowship with Jesus very long. Ie the example of the rich young ruler??
