It depends on circumstances, and you seem to be young. A good impression would be something to reflect that you know her taste, the things she really likes, something to prove that you have noticed what kind of girl she is!

girls ask for a lot from a guy . they dont want a straight up present .a really good thing for her birthday is to first ask for her favorite fruit, flower, food, and stuff like that, and suprise her with a picnic, with everything she said .
another thing would be a scavenger hunt, [hard to get points] put a note on her door telling her to go to her favorite store, and in the store, give her a note to go to her favorite resturaunt, and in the resturant, tell her to go to her favroite beach, and come with a rose for a candle lit dinner .
girls dont like a simple shirt from her favorite store, they want guys to give her good attention .
