Um nervous bout da whole "who's payin" thang. It wud feel kinda awkward 2 bring it up. i dnt mind payin but how do i bring it up in a way dat wont make us feel weird

Simply ask before the day of the date. Bring it up in conversation. I feel like if he asked you he should pay, but you will never know unless you ask

I wouldn't worry about who's paying.
When the check arrives wait a minute and see if he grabs it. If not then you pick it up and reach for your money.
If he would rather pay he will say; "Put yo money away, I'm gonna pay babe!".
However, if you do pay too many times when going out then it is time to find a new man.
