Sometimes, it is reflection.
Sometimes, it is search for knowledge.
Sometimes, it is curiosity about what other people think.
All of those are acceptable.
A few like to ask mocking questions, for some reason. My own guess is that it makes them feel superior. Such a lack of self-esteem is truly pitiful.
What is even more pitiful is when we respond in kind. I know I've been guilty of it at times. I'm trying to learn more self-restraint.

I think its curiosity more than anything else. Think of children, at the earliest age. They are ALWAYS asking questions, about everything they see. Theyre too young to be reflecting though, or searching for knowledge, theyre simply wondering about something they saw. :)
As you get older and more intelligent, the questions change and become deeper, but the reason for asking them stays the same. Its human nature to be curious.

Depends on the question you are asking. Searching and questioning is a great thing. We were not made to be mindless, blind followers. He wants us to willingly follow Him!! We can't do that if we don't know what we are getting into!
