Do you believe in rebirth and if so can we come back as other animals, birds, fishes, insects and what is the point of it all?
Is there such a thing as Nirvana or enlightenment?

If there is only once chance, that doesn't seem fair. Some will just make make others will just fail...that can't be right.

I think that we only get one shot at life, that's why we have to try and make the best of it. Fairness doesn't come into the equation I'm afraid, life just isn't fair! Reincarnation sounds great, but is in my view unlikely. It is possible that 'the point of it all' may be quite obscure or completely beyond our understanding, if one exists at all. I found this excerpt about Nirvana and enlightenment, which I think makes perfect sense...

"Nirvana- The End of Suffering... In this lifetime and all future lifetimes. The Buddha once said, “I teach the path to immortality.” As it turns out, he didn’t mean, not having to die, even Christ had to die. The Buddha was saying... Samsara, the perpetual cycle of birth and death ended in Nirvana, I could never be reborn again... I would exist and not exist at the very same time, forever. I would abide in Nirvana.

Enlightenment- The Wisdom of Emptiness... The wisdom that arises from the direct experience of all phenomena being empty of independent existence.Knowing through personal experience (for example, meditation) that all things are interconnected and interdependent. That nothing in this world exists independently. All things are connected and conditional... In other words... All things exist because of other things."

i think there ahs to be more to life than our current situation, as some people in live get such a bad deal. looking at some research of past life regresion and near death experiences, something does happen when we die, as the experences that occur are so similar, whether the individual is relgious or not!
also the fact that cells in our body die everyday we are not the same individual from on day to the next. we can still remember lots of things we did as children etc, the mind is a powerful thing that the human race will always struggle to understand.

I ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE IN REINCARNATION!!!!!!!! I just can't believe there is only shot @ life in this world. I strongly believe that God gives you a second, third, or as many chances as you need to resolve or rectify any mistakes or issues you have in one lifetime, or over several lifetimes. YES, THERE IS A NIRVANA! There has to be one, because we need an ultimate goal to aspire for, and Nirvana is just that. When my father passed away thirteen years ago so unexpectedly, I always questioned it silently in my heart. He was so young (only 61 years old), and he still had so much to give to this world, to teach his children, and infant grandchildren. He was supposed tobe my mother's support in their old age, yet, he left her before she was even ready to retire. A few years after my Dad's passing, my aunty passed away just as unexpectedly in a freak accident. My aunty was not even near sixty, (she was barely in her fifties), so this time I did question a priest at her memorial service. I asked her why God takes away some people so suddenly, yet others live forever. The priestess told me that it was because those who are taken early have already accomplished their journey through reincarnation, and have attained NIRVANA.

I believe that when we die, if we have lived our life to the fullest, have no unfinished business and have lived a good and honest life then we go to heaven where all those we have loved and lost will be waiting for us.

If however the life we led was full of pain, regret and suffering or we have lived our lives tormenting others and have not completed all of our work we get a second chance, For those that suffered they get a life of happyness and then go on to heaven and for those that were evil and torchered others they live a life that is full of pain and suffer what they inflicted upon others, if they live this life well and are honest they get one more chance at a good life then if they blow that they go to hell to suffer all the torments they have inflicted upon others in all their past lives.

I have no idea. I guess I'll find out when the time comes. Do I WANT there to be some kind of afterlife, rebirth, transcendent energy or something? Of course. It would all be pretty futile if this is all there is ...

I think we just get the one shot at life. After that our bodies just provide fuel for the lives that follow.

Sorry, we only get one life. When you die there's no do-overs, so if you want to make it to heaven, I would suggest the Bible, it has the answer to all you need to know.

No one can anwer that because to know what comes after life you need to finish this one you need to die to know what happens next since when you die you dont come back no one would know that.
