The Old Mytre off Hatton Garden. Why? It is an incredible old building that is tiny with 3 bars within a small courtyard. It is accessed either via Ely or Hatton Garden itself via a narrow alley. If you don't spot the sign on the lamp post you'll walk right past without knowing it is there. The beers are well kept, food is decent and the service is excellent. You can buy a toasted sandwich and sausage at extremely cheap prices. The bars themselves are all panelled with old but comfortable furniture. An old cherry tree actually sits in the corner of one of the bars, and used to define the boundary between the properties of the Bishop of Ely and Sir Christopher Hatton.

loads of great and atmospheric pubs in York and London. For food it has to be The Fat Duck, world famous reputation. If I am going to drink with my b/f after work we usually stick to pubs near the tube station for getting home easily, so Henry's chains are quite good, fairly clean!!

This months favourite, THE REDSHOOT INN, Linwood, New Forest.
brilliant ales (Tom's Tipple is brewed on the premises and is a wonderful real ale) its in the middle of nowhere, whish is fab.

great food, friendly and slighlty mad staff and the customers are a bit of everything. mods, rockers, cyclists, horse riders, hells angels, wannabe hells angels and rich 50 somethings with big expensive bikes, old ladies in chinchilla coats, worzel gummidge, RUSSIAN SPIES, JOAN OF ARC, St augustine school for girls netball team...hurrah, Leon Trotsky...the gay ex priest whose father invented the orangey bit that goes if jaffa cakes......you name, it drinks in the Red Shoot and gets along harmoniously with the whole wide world.

wonderful pub.
