Then answer me this, what makes you feel that your doctorine is the one to be believed above all else, to the detriment of a culture? What makes your beliefs more important, and valuable, that all else should be "laid aside"

Aw don't worry Heather D , not all of us do that.... some of us are much too creative to let such opportunity slip by . I once told two Jehovah witnesses that I was busy sacrificing the neighborhood squirrels to my beloved dark lord but if they could wait five minutes I'd be more then happy to listen to their message . They didn't stick around to hear about the ritual of stray cats , how rude .
My block has a warning system for such people , when we see them unload from their vans we give each other a call telling everyone how close they are , they've actually taken pictures of the houses not to go to lol .
If you don't want to have a door slammed in your face don't go to a persons personal residence trying to shove your religion down their throats because it is not only rude and presumptuous but tacky as well .
Thank you for listening and have a wonderful day :-)

Christians believe that they are sent with a message that will save people from death, and from hell. Many of them feel as if there isn't much time left, and that un-saved people are in serious danger. If you thought a child were in the way of a speeding train, wouldn't you try to save it? Maybe you would shove people out of the way to do it? Would you really care if their feelings got hurt, as long as you could rescue the child?

Yes, many Christians come off as being arrogant and over-bearing, and that is sad. Their "marching orders" (as given by their LEADER, Jesus Christ), don't include arrogance, indeed, Jesus commanded them to be humble. Go figure.

I am a Christian. I am very sad about the state of the world I see around me. I would like to rescue as many people as I can. Could you tell me how to do this without being an ***hole?

Many Christians consider it their obligation to follow what is often termed the Great Commission of Jesus, recorded in the final verses of the Gospel of Matthew: "Go to all the nations and make disciples. Baptize them and teach them my commands." The early Christians were noted for their evangelizing work.

As a Christian, I am often told "If you find it objectionable, change the channel." Ever hear of an e-mail filter? It works. I was getting 10 e-mails per day related to material I find objectionable. I just filter it. No longer a problem.

Religion, like money or ethnicity, has become a symbol of status in modern society, implying that all those not of your own denomination are lesser and therefore need to be brought to your level. It's ironic because Christ himself was against the spread of organzied religion.

If you don't believe that way ignore it, as far as the first remark about slamming the door on the kids in the white shirts on bikes..DONT BE SO RUDE...you may not believe what another person believes but that doesn't give you the right to be a jerk about it.....By the way I AM a MORMON.

The best thing to do is ignore them... like slamming a door inside those kids in white shirts walking or riding a bike around town preaching!

IF YOU SAW SOMEONE WALKING DOWN THE STREET AND THEY FELL INTO A HOLE, WOULD YOU TRY TO HELP THEM OUT? IT IS ABOUT LOVE. TRUE CHRISTIANS DO NOT WANT TO SEE ANYONE SUFFER BECAUSE OF IGNORANCE. IF WE CAN HELP WE TRY. I DO OBJECT TO PEOPLE TRYING TO RAM THERE BELIEFS DOWN SOMEONES THROAT THOUGH. I WILL SHARE WHAT I BELIEVE BUT I'M NOT GOING TO ARGUE OR DRAG ANYONE THROUGH THE MUD TO GET MY POINT ACROSS. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT, SIMPLELY TELL THEM YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED. I DO FIND IT ODD THOUGH THAT THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED ON THE BELIEFS OF CHRISTIANITY, YET WE ARE THE ONES MOST PROSECUTED. HOWEVER WE ARE EXPECTED TO EXCEPT SATANIC CULTS, WITCHCRAFT, HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE, AND RELIGIONS THAT WORSHIP THINGS AS RIDICULOUS AS HOUSE SHOES WITHOUT SAYING SO MUCH AS A WORD. GO FIGURE!

I guess if you were don' t care about others you could slam doors, but most religious people believe that living that way will eventually bring them happiness. I would find it to be a compliment if someone cared enough to give up their time to give me what they thought would help me in my life.
