It sounds like something well worth reading. If she has not secured copyright on manuscript help her to do so. Lacking that she should make a copy and mail the original to herself by registered mail with a return receipt. She should then take the unopened package and put it in safe deposit box or with an attorney.. This will protect her from theft of her work - BUT MORE IMPORTANT she can tell publishers that her work is protected. Many will not read an unprotected manuscript.

This girl has done something that many only dream of achieving. She is a fighter with guts and determination and she be congratulated on getting this far. Somehow I think the qualities and faith that drove her to become clean and get out of the gutter will drive her to make something of herself. I think that if she decides to publish the book it will be when she is ready as it is a very personal story. Remember that when publishing a book there is a lot of publicity involved and this will include questions about her past life. She needs to strong enough and ready and willing to talk about what happened. Writing the book is one step on her path to full emotional and psychological recovery, publishing will probably be the fianl step.

Good luck to her, and congratulations on getting this far!

Please publish this book....i'd love to read it. I read an amazing book by James Frey last week. Its the story of how he recovered from alcohol and drug abuse and it was the most amazing story i've ever read.
This ladys life story sounds really interesting and in this day and age its good to hear how people came through all the **** in life and made good.
I hope lots of people answer this and give her the courage to go and get it published.
There may be a few knock backs along the way as not every publishing house deals with stuff like this, but keep going and it will happen.
Please keep us up to date and let us know if it happens !!!

Yes,it would be gr8 to read this book...do u have a summary?
I've had doubts abt such books..but after reading SHANTARAM i'm up for reading a book like it....
Your friend is brave to tell the world its dark realities,if she can write it..she can publish it too....if its true and doesn't question our beliefs..many wuld read it.
But,do not judge the fate of the book by the answers in thos question alone...

I would be delighted to read her book! I enjoy reading ANY account where the Lord interceded in someone's life and poured His abundant grace and mercy on them.

What a blessing! I pray for her continued walk with the Lord. I will look for an announcement of it's impending publication.

I would be interested, it sounds an inspiring story and I think she has done really well to turn her life around whether the book gets published or not (though I would like to read it if it was).

I'd read it.

I believe God uses personal testimony of His power to change lives.

Certainly, walk into any Christian book shop and you will find similar life stories. Why not approach a publisher?

I'd read it.
just as long as she's not doing a James Fray on us and is going to be exposed on Oprah!! That was really disappointing. not that I'd wish that kind of harsh life on anybody but if you write a story autobiographically and promote it as such and people read it and gain respect for you and your resolve, then find out it's all made up the fall out is huge.
Good Luck

So your friend was suffering from hooker-iticis and taking hits from a crack pipe when she had a vision of the Big Man on Heaven. Could this have anything to do with, oh, say, the DRUGS?
