Making an great sounding CD ?

I have MP3 files from different sources. I want them to have the same quality & volume level when I burn them to CD. Is there a utility or application which checks and adjusts for this ?

search thru google for : cdex - the developer has stopped work on it but shoudl still be out there verison 1.5 - it will take your existing MP3 and 'normalize' them - have used this for a few years now and works great - will also RIP cD's onto your system
