Ok, anyone that tells you right away that diet pills are bad, has no idea what they're talking about. And anyone that tells you they don't work, is also ignorant. Of course, most people that tell you it's healthier to just change your diet, they are absolutely correct. However, it is understandable that many people can't as easily change a diet as they can take a pill. I would tell you to take either Hydroxycut or Hot Rox, both pills can be purchased on www.GNC.com. Also, pills with Hoodia are good, it is derived from and African Cactus, and it is very healthy. Do not take anything that has Ephedra in it, that is very dangerous. If you buy pills off the website I gave you, then you won't have to worry about that, because they can not sell things with that ingredient. I would also advise that you take a multivitamin, because a weight loss diet will cause your body to lose some of the essential nutrients that it should be getting. Try GNC Mega Women Multi Vitamins, also from that website.

Diet pills are so not a good idea....even the ones that claim to be herbal are full of crap.
My friend had those ones that make your body expel the fat (make you poo it out) and she ended up in a right mess. She felt like she was on a high all the time and was on the toilet non stop.
Just eat good food and swim/power walk and do some cardio exercises.
Did you know that the majority of people who diet per se, put 100%+ back on within 2 years ?
Just get a healthy eating plan and stick to it. You don't have to cut everything out. I always found if i denied myself chocolate or something, i really craved it. So at the end of every week, if i'd done well with my eating i had a bar of chocolate and it tasted better than ever as i'd really earned it.

Most diet pills are not very good for your health. You should talk to a docter about it, they know what pills there are and which pills are relatively save.

I don't know if you have these pills where you come form, I know of 2 pills that van be used is case of obesity.
Xenical (orlistat) which prevents the absorption of fat
Reductil (sibutramine) which takes away the hunger resulting in eating less.

Reductil can cause high blood pressure and Xenical will result in malabsorption of the vitamins A, D, E and K and you will get a lot of diarea

But still you need advise from a docter or dietician about diet pills, since most of them do more damage then good.

Diet pills that you buy online or through newspaper ads rarely work, the only pounds you'll be losing is from your bank account.

I was overweight and my doctor prescribed me the drug Xenical, although my health was monitored very closely, regular blood pressure checks and blood tests. This really is a last resort before surgery and only normally open to people with a high body mass index (BMI).

Basically the drug Xenical stops the body absorbing fat from the food you eat, you still have to watch your diet, as a bargain bucket from KFC eaten with Xenical can have some pretty nasty side effects coming from your lower bits (if you catch my drift).
There can be side effects and your doctor will explain these to you.

Xenical's is also sometimes known as Orlistat. If you Google both, you can generally find some good medical papers on them including the benefits as well as the disadvantages.

You cannot be prescribed this drug unless your BMI is high remember... so this drug is not for shifting a few pounds, its for serious weight loss.

There are no good ones to try. I took diet pills about 20 years ago and now I have a heart condition, they almost broke up my marriage and cost me my job. I would take them to give me energy in the morning. and then to keep me going at night. When I was on them, my moods were accentuated(if that's the right word) When I was sad, I was almost suicidal, when I was angry I lost control. They totally messed up my life. Please don't try diet pills. Try weight watchers or just eating right and exercising.

Saw this on GMTV this morning. There is a new diet pill on the market called Acomplia which works by suppressing the appetite. But like any drug it does have side effects. Also, you have to take it permanently. The best way to lose weight is to exercise and cut down on your food intake - eating healthier foods when you do eat. It takes some will power to cut out all the rubbish, but like anything after a while it becomes second nature.

Make time for 30min of cardio per day

Eat 6 small meals instead of 3 large as
this boosts your metabolism

Never eat after 8pm

Add more fruits and veggies to your diet and less cards such as pasta, bread and potatoes

Stay away from drive thrus keep a granola or slim fast bar in your purse in case you get the munchie

Don't try any of them they are just a scam to make you spend money the only true way of dieting is a calorie controlled diet and regular exercise, see your GP or practise nurse for the best diet for you.

Before you shoot her down why did no-one think to ask how much she needs to lose?

I am on reductil (sibutramine) at the moment, I doubt that you need them and probably what has been recommended is very apt advice for you.

Go and see your GP if it is more than a cosmetic problem they will help you out, if you are placed on diet pills then you need to be monitored.

PS- I cant notice any difference since I have been on these tablets but I have managed to lose a stone.
