the best friend that you can have is yurself. though you may have a lot of friends, sometimes th only person who can help you feel nice is urself.
matter of having importance between friends is quite a different thing. its not necessary to understand that its always not possible to become the most talkedabout between ur frinds, sometimes the share may get distributed.
a person who is well aware of his thoughts and feelings always find it difficult to get involved with friends. for example , imagine that you are with your friends , suddenly by mind you leave the group and then you see that you are not talked to, but yet you are present in the group, it creates what you have desribed as the loss of importance.
be your nice frend keep ur dignity, own ur thoughts, but to a permissible level, a person who likes you with all these characteristic behaviour would be your nice friends.
there is no use hanging around with a set of people , while you always feel that you arenot a part of the group. and also there is no use assuming a different charcter from what you have so that you are to have some friends.
getting a nice friend is not an easy task. so wait and whenyou get someone like that enjoy your company.

#1. Become comfortable being alone. Really get to know yourself. Once you actually enjoy your own company better than that of your old friends, #2. Find better friends.

communication is the key with friends. You cant assume anything and risk the relationship. Talk to them and tell them how you feel.

You seem to be describing acquaintances, not true friends.
If you want people who don't act like that, then you will need to make some real friends.

Are they shunning you? That is common, it even happened to me. All of a sudden, I was "not". It is all based on insecurity. They may have changed and feel like they are "cooler" now. Or are they angry for another reason?

You have a serious insecurity problem.....you need to feel important to yourself.....please don't put your self worth in the hands of someone else...you are unique....one a kind....SPECIAL.....start loving yourself and those feelings will disappear.

listen to *them* ... pay attention to them and give them the importance which you would like to feel ... perhaps it's a matter of "do unto others as you woulld have them do unto you"
