What's wrong with the people that said that the moslems worsips a pagan moon god?!! from what hole of lies did you guys dig this
info, Right now, I'm a moslem and I'm NOT worshipping a moon god!!
The word GOD in Arabic is ALLAH.
you can ask all the moslems in this world .

Here's a verse from The Holy Qur'an:

"And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Do not bow down (prostrate) to the sun nor to the moon, but only bow down (prostrate) to "Allah" Who created them, if you (really) worship Him." [Quran 41:37]

They ask you about the new moons. Say: These are signs to mark fixed periods of time for mankind and for the pilgrimage (Qur'ân 2:189).

The word "Allah" literally means itself, "The only one worthy to be worshipped".

"Say: ‘Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names....‘"
[Al-Qur’an 17:110]

See?

First, "Allah" was not one of the 360 idols which were in the Ka'abah, although Morey has claimed this without evidence. When the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) entered Meccah victorious he went into the Ka'abah and broke the idols therein.

Second, the word "Allah" has been used all along for the name of "God" in the Arabic Bible for Jews and Christians alike. The proof is easy to verify; simple go to any hotel or motel on the earth and look in the drawer next to the bed and take out the complimentary Bible, placed there by the Giddeons and then look on page 5 or 6 where they list the examples of translations they have made into other languages. The second example given is for Arabic speakers. The verse is from the Gospel of John, chapter 3, verse 16. Everyone knows this one; "For God so loved the world..." and the word in Arabic for "God" is "Allah." Then if you have a Bible in Arabic, look on page one in Genesis, and you will find the word "Allah" fourteen times.

What? that's it?
You guys really don't know anything about moslems except from what you've been told do you?
It's just a symbol!
There's nothing sacred about it
just like the Jews with the star of David and the Christian with the Crosses and stuff
If I said that The Christian God is a Celtic-Pagan God would you be happy with that (Because Celtics use cross as their symbol of their gods too)?

They are stupid plain and simply look at the idiot that put the link on the first answer it says that was the god before the advent of Islam. Then it also said that was a speculative arguement. The other idiot says because the crescent moon was the symbol. But that wasn't the symbol when Muhammad was there it came way later. According to there dumbass logic Christian worship mister T that is way the t is their symbol.

First of all, that concept about God in arabic form Allah, we'll still not call our God allah because that would be an absolute insult to what our God stands for, they don't have the same stand: my God and your allah is way too different so stop shoving it on our throat. 2nd read biographies of muhammad and histories with an open mind, then you'll know what we're talking about.

History is history, and can't be changed just because you'd like it to be. The fact is, the ancient Arabians worshipped a pantheon of gods, one of whom was adapted from Muhamed's home town to be "Allah", which is only a generic term for "god" and is NOT the name of the God of Abraham.

Understand, dear Muslim, that the god of the Koran is NOT the God of the Christian Bible.

We get that idea from here. http://www.chick.com/information/religions/islam/allah2.asp
And I think this is pretty convincing:
"What religion today practices the pagan rites of the moon god? Islam! This explains why the crescent moon is the symbol of Islam. It is placed on top of mosques and minarets and displayed on hats, flags, rugs, amulets and even jewelry. Every time you see the Muslim symbol of a crescent moon, you are seeing the ancient symbol of the moon god."

Don't feel bad, the Christians worship a reformed sky God. Read up on Mithra. Religions evolve, there's no shame in that. What's shameful is hypocracy.
