If God is omniscient, can he forget?

God cannot forget in the sense that we forget something, as He is omniscient. When God "forgets", what actually happens is He chooses to no longer look upon or consider something, such as our sins when we have asked for forgiveness.

God has not told us whether or not He can forget. Since we are not divine, we can only guess.

He does mention putting our sins in the deepest part of the sea and He says "they are remembered no more." My guess would be that He could remember them if He wanted to, but chooses never to think of them again. Kind of like when a kid is a bedwetter and then grows up. His mom could remember that he had been a bed-wetting kid, and she could talk about it, but she never will--and she won't think about it when he's grown up either, even though she certainly could.

God doesn't forget anything, nor is he evil, as suggested. God chooses to "not remember" or in simpler terms, God chooses to let go and not bring it back up again, if you ask for forgiveness.

I sing a song in church called "What Sin". Many times it is us who bring the sins back up and recall and remember and regret. Once we ask for forgiveness, don't bring it up again, as the song says because God will always say " What Sin".

This is of course if you aren't still sinning in this area.

God is eternal in all ways... always remembering when to forget and when not to forget.

Is God a "he"? I believe: yes and no. God is "he and she".
