To my knowledge, it should be checked for mad cow disease before processed and sold. Other than that, cooking beef to appropriate temperatures inside is the key to health safety. this is easily found information on the internet under "beef" and "cooking temperatures".

when I cook beef on stove top, I cook in a pan with a table spoon of olive oil. When it is brown, I add some Teriyaki sauce or soy sauce to brown it. It may be cut into bite-sized pieces before cooking and is delicious with rice!

meat aren't as safe these days as people think they are. considering the food that the animals eat are now more or less made with chemicals, which means we will be taking them in too. in india, it is not right to eat beef for the reason that the people regard cows as their second mothers. it's because they get their milk from the cows (when the mother is done lactating) to give their children. they feel it's but right to spare the life of the one that gives their children the sustenance that the mother can't give anymore.

Dear, in India they WORSHIP cows, so it's not really safe to eat beef. With not safe I mean that all the people will hunt you down or something like that, because of their god there in your stomach.
