There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me is...
(L)isten: and Validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

People seem clueless when it comes to if they like or love someone. They don't seem to be confused when it comes to what food. music or auto they love. Or their love for their pet. If your dog chews your best sandals before your big Mexican hiliday with the girls, you don't hate the dog. If the dog got into yout candy box and ruined that great anniversary evening with your b/f. You don't hate the dog. If your favorite food KOed you with food poisoning the day of the big concert. You'd eat it again.
So why is it people can not tell the difference from lust and love? They may seem similar but upon closer inspection love is to silk what lust is to satin. You know you are in love if you fully surrender your heart to whom you love. If you have to be cold and wet that they would be dry and warm, you do it. To see them fed you will go hungry. If you have to sacrifice the body that they might avoid pain or injury, you do it. And you do not ask for their love back as a condition that you give yours. You will forgive any and all transgressions. Doesn't mean you have to be a door mat but you do not start hating them because they kissed another girl or she went skinny dipping with the ex. And even in the worst of it, you stand by your mate. Just like Donna Reeves did Christopher. The loss of limbs, freedom, mobility does not shake you from that person's side. You can not imagine not being with them the same way you can not imagine being without your right leg. If you feel that way about them, and they about you. That is love. Anything else is imitation, call it a super lust episode

but i think it is a mixed emotion of hamones and desire to have so i am not really sure.

a emotion you get about someone. This person is always on your mind, their touch makes you tingily all over, their the last thing you think about going to bed and the first thing that is on your mind when you wake up. There nice theres an attraction, and you would give your life for theirs. LOVE! wahoo
