My boyfriend and I have been going out for about 6 months now and he hasn't told his parents about me. My parents have known about him since the first week we started going out. I kind of want him to tell his parents because I don't want to have a hidden relationship, but he doesn't want to tell his parents because he is afraid of their reaction. He is Russian and I am Chinese; his parents don't like Chinese people and they only want him to date Russian girls. I like him so much to the point where I feel like I love him; I trust him with my secrets and I think he is the most wonderful guy ever. I'm his first real girlfriend and when we first started going out, he snuck me into his house. One time, while I was there, his grandma saw me and asked him who I was; he lied about me. I don't want to have any secrets in this relationship, but he still refuses to tell his parents. What do you think he should do?

Also, he is 2 years older than me and goes to school 550 miles away (he went off to college in the Fall). I don't get to see him very often anymore, but I still care and love him so much.

Try to tough it out. I mean, you've got real distance between you school-wise, so if you can both survive that, then you probably are made for each other. His family will have to deal with it at some point, and he probably knows that. Just tell him that you feel uncomfortable with the situation, and maybe he, you, and your family could have a little pow-wow about it even, come up with a plan that might make it a little bit less painful for him to tell his family, yanno?

Well that's pretty sad first of all. Why bother dating someone you can't bring you around to his own parents? If I were you I would of left this relationship quickly no matter how much I liked the guy, if the parents don't accept you then why bother? It's horrible that he has to continue hiding this relationship especially right in your face I would end this immediately.

sounds like this question may be moot. If he is now going to school 550 miles away and has never told his parents about you then then I think he never will, I would think its time to move on.

I know this put you in difficult but my suggest is give him a little time to built his confidence and encourage him until he ready to introduce you to his family. But if he already spent your time so much more than one year, start to find somebody new who ready for serious relationship. Good Luck!!

Well if he really loves you then he shouldn't be afraid of what his parents think! You can't have a good relationship if your always trying to advoid his parents.

He will have to face his parents sooner or later about something of this sort. Better now then later. Its not good to have lies. He should tell them and you should let them get to know you better.

Dump him and find someone who really loves you.
And I guarantee that person is out there.
