If you want your cat to come to you by calling their name here's something you can try-

Make you sure they see you filling their food bowl when its time to eat, and stay with him as he eats... the whole time you should be saying their name or what you would want them to come to you by. For example you can say "Come here Fluffy" or something like that... If you do this enough times your cat will come to associate its name and your voice with food and good feelings so eventually your cat will just come to you at the sound of his name.

I just click with the side of my mouth and say "come here, you mental midget". That gets most of the neighborhood cats attention. They know they are fairly safe in my yard. And sometimes there is a treat involved with a calling. Or it is time to walk the three legged dog I have. They love that! They chase him and he runs, turns and chases them! It is quit a show with the up trees and fences and through bushes and the dog not sure if he is chasing or being chased. A whistle brings him back and 3 of the cats. A cheek click gets the rest back.

I open up a package of Temptation treats. My cat loves them. Sometimes I just tap where I want her to come and she does...Cats are a little more subborn at this then dogs are..

With my cats I call them by their names and they come. And if I tap a spoon onto a plate, they bolt. That means food!

Train them to come to you by snapping your fingers and calling their name. Start by snapping your fingers with your right hand until he comes to you then pet him with that hand then do the same with your left hand. Go back and forth with it. It'll take them a bit to get the hang of it so once you snap they come to you knowing they'll get petted.

Let me know if it works for you. ;P
