Doesn't that prove God is not perfect. Like, 7th time's the charm imperfect...I know he said he regretted creating mankind before the flood, but this one's good too.

I'm quoting this from an answer someone gave me.

I asked "What if God asked you to create a few new commandments, what would you command?"

While I agree that 7 is a number that represents perfection or completion, I can't find that passage either. If you'd give your reference, I'd be happy to look at it and give you a better answer.

LOL!

Ah, well there you have it! I cannot defend made up verses.

Maybe it's in the same version that has "cleanliness is next to Godliness......."

When God speaks He gets is right the first time. This is just man's way of saying how perfect God's laws are. His word wasn't literally refined seven times. The number seven is used to emphasize the completeness or perfectness of His word.

Where did you find this in the Bible? Please specify the chapter and verse. I don't think the Bible states what you are saying, at least in the words you are using. Regarding the flood, what loving creator wouldn't regret having to destroy all but 7 members of humanity, starting all over again, even while knowing full well he would still have to die on the cross to save us? There are many variations of the Bible- it's okay.

What is "perfect" for God may not be the same "perfect" for each and everyone- it's okay.

"Seven" is often regarded as "fulfillment"... seven days in a week... a number used to count eternity on this earth. God is eternal... in body- eternally changing and in spirit eternally unchanging. It's okay to believe differently.

Something to keep in mind when wondering about the contradictions of the bible. It has over 40 different authors, maybe more (all men, no gods) and was written, edited, re-written, change, edited again, etc. over the course of several hundred years and, most importantly, it is not a history book.

Well, I think all those laws were made by men. Doesn't matter, God got rid of them. No one is redeemed through law. Only by grace. Which means we have to do absolutely nothing. All righteous. From day one to the end.
