How much can you network?
If you know people who can make dresses, make the cake, bring food, drink etc, maybe provide the reception venue (someone with a large house & garden?)
For honeymoon go somewhere nice but not too expensive. You should easily be able to fit your budget

This site will help you find vendors in your price range, budget, manage your guest lists, etc. You should figure in the most expense part of your wedding first: catering or food. Typically that will be about 40% of your budget. You can decide what youll need to weed out, because you will need to cut things down to have a wedding on this budget, whether its the guest list, etc.
You could have a destination wedding, with close friends and family in a tropical place. That way your budgeting will stay intact, but there are pros and cons to this view. The trip itself is the venue, you could get married on the beach and ask for a private dinner in your hotel. Less people. . . but you have to pay for traveling expenses.

This is the most Important Factor:The bride and groom should agree on what is important
Here are some others:
Who's paying for what?
What you want a big or small wedding?
How many people are coming?
How many you have in your wedding party?
SOME TIPS:
Plan on making many of your accessories such as your ring pillow, wedding veil, and decorations. Craft and fabric stores offer large selections of patterns, ideas and fabrics as well as many short how-to courses
Shop for your wedding gown in places other than bridal boutiques. Allow yourself enough time to competitive shop in order to find the best deal that meets your criteria.
(I bought my Dress off E-bay it was so cheap).
Make your own Invitations

Our wedding was around $5500. It's very do-able to have a wedding without spending a fortune. Focus on what's important and have your theme be "simple but elegant." You'd be amazed how much hype is out there and yet people won't notice if, for example, you don't arrive at the church in a limo.

There are tons of wedding reality shows on TV now...sometimes I find myself watching them randomly.
They think of TONS of really cute ideas for weddings that are really low cost.
I'm thinking that location and professional services are the biggest waste of the wedding budgets. So, try looking for a romantic location that isn't a budget breaker and try doing the things that you can yourself. :)

Too much for one day. You don't have to go for the super expensive items. Make some things yourself, to save money. Make your own invitations. It's cheaper and also add that personal touch.
Bake your own cake. It might not be like the ones you see in magazines, but it will taste better, knowing you made it yourself.

I spent 1500. Look for a nice bed and breakfast...they are usually decorated very nicely and don't need to add to the decorations. The bed and breakfast may also be willing to cater, or may work together with a restaruant.

Well, wedding packages on Maui w/out dress, tuxeedo, dinner, and rings, are about $300 for simple beach wedding to $7,000 for deluxe wedding.

Get your dress in a sale/second hand and modify it or have it home made, do your own food, and keep frivilous junk to a minimum, no one remembers the things like balloons and stuff, its about getting married not decoration, make our own boquet or get someone artistic to help
