I can't tell you how tired I am of hearing it. I find it hard to believe that someone honestly can not see why we are in this war. That is why i seriously question the motives of anyone who says they oppose it. We know there are people among us who are no friends of the United States and what it stands for who will twist the truth to make it appear as if they are the ones trying to save the constitution. They say they care about the troops then encourage people not to enlist or if someone is already in the service not to deploy. Then they will come to a site like this and tell someone who is there that they are fighting for nothing. They do not honor veterans. They have no concept of gratitude because they are seeking a totally different America....their little communist utopia or some derivation of one. I'm beginning to feel like the only people I can identify with are those fighting and I wish I could be with them...and I would be if I weren't too old.
It's the Soldier, not the reporter,
who has given us the freedom of the press.
It's the Soldier, not the poet,
who has given us the freedom of speech.
It's the Soldier, not the politicians
that ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
It's the Soldier who salutes the flag,
who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag.
If you care to offer the smallest token of recognition and appreciation
for the Military, please pass this on and pray for our men and women who
have served and are currently serving our country and pray for those who
have given the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.

First, for the brainless who thik there was a lie to this war, have forgotten already what led to the war in Iraq. This war is a strong part of the war on terror. We are fighting Al Qaeda. We just killed Zarqawi. I would never disrespect soldiers by saying they have died for nothing. I wish I could be over there.

I wonder if when it's all done and your in heaven, a soldier would walk up to you after finding out something we all don't know today and say "I died for nothing, and it was your job as an American to make sure that this didn't happen to others like me"

You sit here and Condem the President saying what are we there for and are we really fighting terrorism ...is Bush really doing anything .......well during the 8 years of the Clinton Admin. at least 1 American est. world wide has been blown up or attacked including 3 attacks on American Soil and 1 attack on an American war ship in the years since we went to war there has not been 1 attack on any American embassy or building or ship ....not 1 terrorist attack inside the US I believe that is a major positive result weather you want to believe it or not that is the Fact....If I'm not mistaken protecting civilians is one of the jobs of the Military and the President and they have done that ...there is no doubt about that

Then what are they dieing for?
It is a horrible, HORRIBLE shame that this administration is putting our troops in harms way, for what? To bring democracy to Iraq? To find weapons of mass destruction? To fight a "War" on terrorism? I wouldn't say that our troops die without honer, ever! They are the most brave and noble of people, to fight in the name of freedom, even for those that would harm them. But it is a travesty what the Bush administration has done with our troops.
And I for one will not Shut the F*** up, because someone must speak for our sons and daughters, fathers and mothers. While they obey their commands, and diligently fight, they must remain loyal and steadfast, but I will do everything I can to get them out of harms way.

my husband was in Iraq for a year and if he had died while over there i would of said that he died for nothing. i see no reason for them being over there. the Iraq government nor the Iraqi people want them there. while i support my troops 100% doesn't mean that i have to support the war one bit. the whole point in the US military is to protect and serve the US. can you tell me how they are doing so by re-building Iraq and loosing there lives to do so?

Thank You so much for that, you are a good person. My son is in Iraq and he would love to know there are people like you. Look at this that a friend mailed me today. the you don't mean you. lol
A LITTLE PERSPECTIVE
Your alarm goes off, you hit the snooze and sleep for another 10 minutes. He stays up for days on end.
-- --
You take a warm shower to help you wake up. He goes days or weeks without running water.
-- --
You complain of a "headache", and call in sick. He gets shot at, as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.
-- --
You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends. He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.
-- --
You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket. He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.
-- --
You talk trash on your "buddies" that aren't with you. He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.
-- --
You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls. He walks the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.
-- --
You complain about how hot it is. He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.
-- --
You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong. He does not get to eat today.
-- --
You make your bed and wash your clothes. He wears the same things for months, but makes sure his weapons are clean.
-- --
You go to the mall and get your hair redone. He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.
-- --
You are angry because your class ran 5 minutes over. He is told he will be held an extra 2 months.
----
You call your girlfriend and set a date for that night. He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.
-- --
You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday. He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.
-- --
You roll your eyes as a baby cries. He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.
-- --
You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything. He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own government and remembers why he is fighting.
-- --
You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of the men like him. He hears the gun fire and bombs.
-- --
You see only what the media wants you to see. He sees the bodies lying around him.
-- --
You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't. He does what he is told.
-- --
You stay at home and watch TV. He takes whatever time he is given to call and write home, sleep, and eat.
-- --
You crawl into your bed, with down pillows, and try to get comfortable. He crawls under a tank for shade and a 5 minute nap, only to be woken by gun fire
-- --
You sit there and judge him, saying the world is a worse place because of men like him. If only there were more men like him.

Everyone with a brain, who can debate without saying "Bush is Hitler" over and over and over again as thier only main point.
Anyone who has more than a passing interest in politics and a skeptical view about what everyone says until they find out the truth for themselves, meaning: NOT Michael Moore fans.
