THANK ALL OF YALL FOR THE COMMENTS AND ADVICE, BUT THIS MORNING, I HAD TO TAKE HER TO THE VET, SHE SAT OUTSIDE MY WINDOW ALL NIGHT JUST YELPING. SHE DRUG HERSELF TO MY WINDOW. TURNS OUT, IT WASNT THE WORMS, SHE HAD A NEUROLOGICAL DEFECT AND WAS PARALYZED. MAGGOTS WERE EATING HER FROM THE INSIDE OUT. SHE IS NOT WITH ME RIGHT NOW, BUT SHE WILL BE CREMATED AND THEN SHE WILL BE BACK IN MY HOUSE TO STAY FOREVER, THEN BURRIED WITH ME WHEN I GO. I LOVE THAT DOG SO MUCH. BUT THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVICE.

May I go now
Don't you think the time is right?
May I say good-bye to pain-filled days
and endless lonely nights?
I've lived my life and done my best,
an example tried to be,
So can I take that step beyond
and set my spirit free?
I didn't want to go at first.
I fought with all my might!
But something seems to draw me now
to a warm and loving light.
I want to go! I really do!
It's difficult to stay.
But I will try as best I can
to live just one more day .
To give you time to care for me
and share your love and fears.
I know you're sad and are afraid
because I see your tears.
I'll not be far, I promise that,
and hope you'll always know
that my spirit will be close to you
wherever you may go.
Thank you so for loving me.
You know I loved you too.
That's why it's hard to say good-bye
and end this life with you.
So hold me now, just one more time,
and let me hear you say,
because you care so much for me,
you'll let me go today.

Well, that is very sad because i love dogs and im sorry that she is in such a bad condition...... you should get her some heart worm medicine if you have not already, or take her to the vet for a check up........ if nothing can be done, just show her love and let her know that she is loved so she can pass away in peace ... i'd baby her and try to keep her happy.... maybe just sit by her and pet her, talk to her, she probably won't care even though she can't understand you, maybe your voice and just being there will comfort her.......... good luck.... hope she's ok

I'm so sorry. You are probably going to have to put her to sleep. Heart worms are only curable by an injection of arsenic which is of coarse toxic to the dog as well as the worms. Without treatment your dog is only going to get worse and die a horrible death. Take her to a vet right away please. Chetco you keep making me cry as do all the people losing pets on here. Dogs lives are way too temporary.
I ONLY WANTED YOU
They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

I have a dog in my life and yes she is my life . She is like my own child, but before her I had 2 other ones . I loved them both as my own life .The first one of them I put to sleep from a broken hip , the other died from old age,to tell you the truth the one that died from old age broke my heart to two, watching your dog dying will kill you, believe me it died in my hands and I still cant get over it,I keep on seeing the seen over and over again.
I'm sorry to write this but It seems your dog is dying and because she is old and because of the worms .
Go to the vet for the worms and the vet will tell you what to do , but whatever happens the choice is yours. The best thing to get over it is a new member in your family.

Having a dog for 13 years is a true testament to your love for her. If she is not eating or drinking, other not so nice things can and probably will happen to her. I'd probably consider putting her down, and holding her all the way thru. You'll alwys be able to look foward to the day when you can be with her on the other side. God Bless.

It sounds like she is getting ready to go. Most animals go off by themselves to die. My cat went and laid down in her favorite spot by the stream and died, I saw her from a distance and I just thought she was sleeping...at anyrate, try to give her as much love as possible...it may be best not to move her. I would call a vet and ask about it. If she looks like she's in a lot of pain it may be better to put her down, but she may just slip peacefully away. My dog lived to 15 and had a tumor on her shoulder that never seemed to bother her until her last year--she kept catching it on fences and such and ripping it open. We put her down because it seemed to be really bothering her and she would probably have died if we had it operated on. It's your discrection, but just be there for her at any rate.

i agree with most of what everyone else has said. You need to get her to the vet to get her checked out. she might not be dieing after all. i personally dont know if i would have her put down i like the idea of pain medications to ease any pain and letting her lay in her favorate spot to die. my husband and I recently lost our 15 year old Lab it was hard on us but we new she would never suffer again.
(she actully died from getting hit by a car, she was a friendly dog and made her rounds every night to all the neibors homes after dinner to get all the scraps everyone gave her where she was getting older she just couldnt surry across the street fast enuf, luckly she didnt die alone the woman who had just givin her scraps saw what happend and came and got me and I carryed that 150lb dog (i only weigh 160lb) the 1/8 of a mile back to our living room where she tryed very hard to wait for my husband to get home from work to say good bye to her, when he was about 2 hours late 'he often never knew exactly when he would be home' I got down laying next to her cuddled up under her blanket with her and wiped the tears from both or eyes and told her that I loved her and that he loved her too and that he would understand that she didnt wait on him. that it was ok to go on. she kinda grined at me and tryed to get up she wagged her tail, closed her eyes and went to sleep. I layed there for another 20 minutes crying into her side. when my husband came home i met him on the porch to tell him before he saw her. He had had her since he was 15 and she was just 6months old. She was that 6month old puppy right up till the day she died. we will always remember her that way.) I still see her playing and laying in the yard sometimes. I dont know if this will help you at all but i hope it does. It will be ok, remember her as the dog you loved and love her always. And get another dog just not too soon, we waited about a year.

you should take her to the vet and spend as much time with her as you can because my 5 year old dog died because of some people by my apartment trapped her under visquine and she was coughing up phlegm for almost two weeks and when i took her to Oklahoma with me we were there for a day and the next day we went to an Indian reservation and i spent my last two hours with her right by her side
so please get her checked for any other problems and ask the vet if she is going to pass away soon so you can spend her last days with her and make her happy
i hope she will be ok
God ♥'s her

I was so totally moved by the tribute poem that chetco put up here. I don't know what I will do when the time comes for my best pal to go. He is 14, now and I will miss him so much. But, for all the times that he has been there for me, I will be there to caress him into the next world.

You are going to hate this answer, but I see no recourse for you. You should put your dog to sleep and set her free. You obviously love your dog unconditionally and have taken great care of her. But can you really watch her suffer every day? This is the toughest decision you can make for your dog. You don't need to do it because I say so, you must come to your own decision. I am very sorry for what you are going through with your pet, your family member. Prayers to you both.
