At first it will seem difficult to eat with braces, but after you get used to it, you can eat almost everything you did before.
A few things I would stay away from: corn on the cob, chewy candy like laffy taffy, gum, and sticky things like that.
Otherwise don't worry, You'll get used to it and wouldn't be able to imagine how you thought it was so hard.

You can pretty much eat anything, just make sure if you eat veggies/fruits/pasta types of foods that you clean your teeth or check to make sure nothing is stuck in your braces. Just carry a little mirror with you - a compact mirror to check your teeth when you are out and you will be fine.

you can basically eat anything you want, but the orthodontists advise you not to eat certain foods such as popcorn and gum. I use to have braces. I advise that chewing gum is a bad idea. My first time chewing gum, I got it stuck to my braces and it took a very long time to remove. Sticky foods like caramel, same concept.
Popcorn supposedly are bad because of their shells. They get caught inbetween your teeth and are very hard to get off.
Avoid nuts and ribs. eating these may extend your time of wearing braces

Well, DON'T eat sticky caramels! You could pull your braces off if you eat things like that. (I did, back when I was a kid. I ate Sugar Daddies, and some braces got pulled off and had to be re-cemented back on.)
