I would select 'his': "However, I myself am a male who believes in adhering to his religious convictions."
'A male' and 'his' agree in terms of person, where 'a male' and 'my' do not. 'My' is a first-person pronoun, and 'a male' is a third-person noun.
I find this whole sentence a little awkward, and if I were to re-write it, I might put it a different way:
"However, I, myself, am a male and I believe in adhering to my religious convictions."
or
"However, I, myself a male, believe in adhering to my religious convictions."

This is a complicated sentence.
My suggestion would be
"However, I adhere to my religious convictions." Less is more. Also, it's a stronger statement.
or
"However, I believe in adhering to my religious convictions." Again, less is more. However, this is a weaker statement because "believe in" separates you from the act of "adhering." In other words, this statement makes it sound like you "believe in adhering," but you don't necessarily do it.

I am a man who believes in adhering to my religious convictions.
Too bad. Most of us believe in what we've been taught and those things represent our own convictions. Just imagine if we were able to think logically and originally about each issue.
