Calm down.
You need to look in your local phone book for a veterinary hospital that stays open 24/7 in nearby towns if yours doesn't have one.

It is very common for dogs to lie in the coolest area of the house. Tile floors are a favorite. As far as the warm compress... is the dog in heat, labor, what? More information is needed. Generally, it is not advisable to heat a dog up as they already are at a disadvantage when it comes to cooling off.

Is there more to this than I am seeing? It is ok for your dog to lay on the floor to cool off. At the shows we put down towels dipped in ice water to keep the dogs cool, as well as putting dipped towels over their backs.

She knows what is needed by instinct, it is not necessary for her to have any treatment

Woah! More details, please? Must have missed something... Did she just give birth? What situation led to this?
