Inflammation causes an appendicitis attack !

Ok you're referring to appendicitis: inflammation of the appendix. Since inflammations involve the swelling up of the area, and since the appendix (from my understanding) is like an empty sac; I'm guessing that an appendix attack is induced when the inflammation gets to the point where the appendix bursts (or is about to burst?)
