Why would someone take a drug so they wouldn't sleep? Say the person had no reason to even stay awake (like he/she didn't have homework or any work at all)

There are many reasons why a person might not want to sleep. But what's important to know is that sleep deprivation will take a physical and mental toll on the person who practices it or experiences it. People h a v e to get enough sleep!

Well, I'm not sure how to answer your question exactly, but I do know a guy who thinks that sleep shouldn't be nessisary because it's boring and a waste of time because on average people spend 1/3 of their life sleeping. That may be why...

some people are addicted to drugs that keep them awake. whether there getting them over the counter ,or their neighborhood drug dealer it is a terrible habit. sleep is a natural part of our well being. depriving ourselves from sleep leaves us unbalanced. thes people often called speed freks need help and support.

Because it's way too hot to be sleeping right now (but I don't need any drugs; the heat is enough to keep me awake...lol)

maybe they feel they might be missing out on something. I know that's the reason that some kids make themselves stay up although they are dead tired. I think it's true for some older people...

Some people have really bad nightmares, or are avoiding sleep because of something that it reminds them of that they dont want to be reminded of, most likely they are having nightmares, or maybe they are addicted to not getting sleep i think it is possible

I have bad nitemares at nite... plus I am allergic to the sun... it will fry me in a heartbeat -- that's the only downside to being Irish -lol.

so they dont have to deal with waking up the next morning..then that night u can go to bed early and wake up early!
