I was taught in driver's ed (where I learned all I needed to know about alcohol consumpsion) that a can of bear, a glass of wine, or a shot of hard liquor takes one hour to leave the system of an average sized person. Our teacher had also advised us to go to a party with a loaf of bread - and eat it while drinking to absorb the alcohol.... :o)

i believe per beer it takes two hours to get out of your system, and as for hard liquor, that might as well be a week.
