Anti-oxidant vitamins play an important role in the health of the scalp and the hair. The most familiar of the anti-oxidant vitamins are Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Hair loss has long been associated with Vitamin C deficiencies, and when sufficient daily levels are regularly achieved, Vitamin C serves to keep hair looking and feeling healthy. Vitamin A serves to help the scalp produce sebum, essential to its health. Vitamin E promotes the healthy circulation that the scalp needs.

I was told that the best thing for your hair and nails is gelatin. Take a single packet of unflavored gelatin, put it in 8 ounces of your favorite beverage (juice, Koolaid, water, etc.) and drink it before it starts to gel. Once a day, and you'll have stong, pretty nails and hair.

The one essential vitamin that I know works well is called "Biotin". You can get this at most vitamin shops. I know GNC carries this product. Also, prenatal vitamins work well too!
