My MasterCard is set to expire 07/06. If I don't receive my new card by July 1st, can I still use my expired card at any merchant that accepts MC until I receive my new card?

When your card expires on July 31, you can no longer use it. You should get a new one shortly (usually 30 days before card expires). If it doesn't come in your mail 2 weeks before your card expires, call the company up.

Usually, if the credit card company has listed only the month and year, and not a day, then the expiration date is the last day of the month. If you anticipate using the card in July, then contact the customer service department. There is usually an 800 number printed on the back of the card.

Absolutely not. If the credit card is being used at any retailer that has an electronic card reader, it is connected to either the retailer's headquarters or credit company and automatically checks to see if the card is expired, stolen, reported lost, etc. The only way it could be used is if the place you use it at uses one of those manual credit machines (that they slide and give you a carbon copy). If you try it at a store or busines, it will 95% of the time come up denied, even if it's July 1st sometimes (depends on the card company). If you haven't gotten your new card yet, call your credit card company ASAP to get one mailed out to you immediately.

You may in fact use this card past its expiration date. Some examples of things you may use it for include: a coaster, to pick dirt from your fingernails, to draw a small straight line, as a bookmark, etc. Uses that resultin purchases will be DENIED. Do you understand what DENIED means? No go....no way. You cannot use this card to purchase items. Good luck and let me know what other uses are out there for expired credit cards. DENIED

You should be able to use it till the August. After that it WILL not work anymore. I accidentally tried to use an expired card on the 1st of the month after it expired and it immediately was rejected.

You will not be able to use it effective 7-1-06. Call your credit card company to confirm they have mailed you a new card, chances are it is in the mail.

no, you cant! it's as simple as that. Any merchant who notices the expiry date will refuse it, and they may even assist you by destroying the card. And that's presuming the card continues to work at all!

It probably didn't go through. You might call them in a day or two and ask them about it just to be sure. If it had processed, and it had gone through twice, you might explain the problem you had with their system and request that they combine both inquiries and only report them as a single inquiry.

You should still be able to use it for another month. After that you will have to get a new one.
