I let my pet leech bite me the other day and the anticoagulant in its saliva caused me to keep bleeding for hours. I didn't lose that much blood, really, but the sight of a dripping, bloodsoaked bandage was enough to really get some of the girls I work with to scratch me off their list of men whom they would potentially date.
In the future after it bites me, what can I do to stop the flow of blood? Can I put some 5-minute epoxy on the cut? Duct tape? Rubber bands?

I let it bite me on my forearm, near my wrist.. I tried applying bandaids, but they just soak right through and start dripping within minutes.
I have 3 leeches now, I bought from Carolina biological supply. They are about 4 inches long when fully extended.

it depends where it bites you, why do you have a pet leech? how big is it?
I would just hold an Ice Cube on the bite and it should slow it down to a stop after it is numb
write the answers in the detail if you dont mind, i have lots of leeches, but they are on my turtles, not really as pets, even though i like them

Wet a tea bag and apply firmly to wound for 5mins.
It must be a black tea bag. They contain tannins which have a chemical called tranexamic acid.
This clots your blood. It is an antidote to the leech saliva which actually stops your blood from clotting.

first use some common sense and don't let the leech bite you.
If your blood does not anticoagulant then you should know not to let the leech bite you. Doctor's use them In certain cases are you doctor.? And when did you get your medical degree .? In other words stay aw at from something bayou nod not know about.

try product called Nu-Skin ... it's like a liquid bandage
or sometimes covering cut with sugar can speed up clotting

this might sound weird but it really helps
when u have a cut n u cant stop bleeding. try to find a spider web and put it in the cut.. i can assure you that its going to stop the bleeding.
dont forget to remove the spider before you use the spider-web

first wash the wound, thoroughly to remove the anticogulant,
then you must apply a mixture of turmeric powder and salt.
