This is Calvin. As for me, I am Chinese but I prefer to speak English. I speak Chinese only when there are people who cannot speak English and only understand Chinese.

I know that as a bilingual at least, one can speak more than one language. But my question is do you prefer the most as speaking English or other languages you are fluent? Of course, there are Filipino people who prefer to speak English in general.

I am just a very curious person in an appropriate way.

I live in America now, I speak mostly English, at home as well. At home, I sometimes mix some French up with English. Because I've been here in America more than half my life, and that French was my first language, I try my hardest (where it didn't use to be an effort) to speak it fully. And the only way, I feel, is to keep up with reading in French, reviewing grammar and vocabulary. I would like to keep up with all the languages I say I know.

I'm fluent in 4 languages (Icelandic, English, Danish and Czech) and I use 3 of them daily and switch between them all the time. I've gotten used to that.

It kind of depends on the subject and who I'm talking to which language I prefer each time. At home I speak 3 languages, just whatever pops up in my head first each time. At work I speak two languages, but there I'm more comfortable with English.

I'm generally most comfortable with speaking Icelandic (my native language) and English, but sometimes Czech can be really convenient too.

I'm half Japanese, 1/4 Irish and 1/4 Welsh. I speak Japanese and English. I speak Japanese with Japanese people and my dad even though my mom knows how to speak it. I speak English with everyone else and my mom. They say a true sign of fluency is if you dream in the two languages. Its also not that one is better than the other, I love speaking Japanese4 as do I love speaking English, but its just depending on the crowed.

I speak English but same thing is true if I meet people who can only speak Chinese I will try to speak it. So far all the Chinese I have met speak English better than I Chinese. I also speak Japanese and a lot better than my Chinese abiltiy; again most Japanese can speak English better than I can speak Japanese.
And finally Spanish is the same thing.

I speak the native language of the other person. However, if there are people around who don't understand, I switch to common language, in most cases, English. Also with somebody who you first met, the language you happened to speak in the first conversation seems to be the language I speak with that person. Whichever language that makes people comfortable would be my choice.

i speak both dutch and english. i also speak spanish, but only very little and what i know, i don't know very well, get my meaning??
i prefer to speak english (over dutch) because the english is a much prettier language then dutch, it's softer, more soffisticated--> it doesn't even matter what you say, it just sounds better. and you can say a lot more in english, there are better words to descibe just about eveything there is to describe!!!
but if i could, i would speak a lot moer spanish because it is so amzing to speak it!!!
and if i could i would also be speaking finnish because it doesn't really sound like any other lanuguage and is therefore much more special!!!

I speak English, as it is my first language, but I can also speak fluent Spanish, and some French. I can also speak some Gaelic, but that is difficult for me. I prefer English, but sometimes, as part of my job, I have to speak Spanish and/or French.

I speak Cantonese, Hokkien and Mandarin (but not too well in Hokkien and Mandarin - now im taking Mandarin classes). I understand Tamil to a certain extent but can hardly speak it.
