I have a very light complexion. My hair color naturally has some brown, some blond, and some red in it. I want to try a red color, but I don't want it to wash me out or be an orangey-red color. Is it possible for my complexion? And also, do you have any color recommendations (specifics)?

Try using a color that is the same level as your hair color...you said that your hair was brownish right?? so maybe try a light auburn color?? It's more of a red brown & wont be that carrot orange color. You could even add some highlights wich will help lighten the color if it's too dark. As for recomendations I prefur to use demi permanent colors because they don't have amonia & other harsh chemicals, my favorite brand is color sync(unfortunately it's only avalible to professionals). If you're going to do it yourself I'd use Garnier Nutresse, I've used it before & it tends to leave your hair feeling nice & healthy.

I hope that helped & good luck!! If you do go throug with it remember that red fades REAL fast, wash your hair in cool water with a shampoo specified for red hair & try not to wash it everyday...if you can help it

I dyed my hair red for many years, it is very hard on the hair because red does fade faster then any other color. My hair got dry and damaged from having to freshen up the color so much. You might want to try a red that is more like a light auburn,if the red has some brown in it ,it doesn't fade as much. Try a temporary color first, then if you like it,you can use a permanent color

I have the same problem... and you can kind of see my hair color/complexion in my picture. I too, have naturally dirty strawberry blonde-ish hair... so I usually use garnier hair dye and I choose a color that's more of a dark auburn color.

Don't use the purple-y colors or the orange-y colors... choose the ones that have more of a brown base. It has enough color to brighten up your face without washing you out.

That's my recommendation... hope it helps.

Semi permament hues are good to apply like loopy colour and instructions, this style of dye isn't adverse you could positioned it on as a lot as you want. It would not contrain any peroxid. If ur hair is allready damaged i'd sugest using a conditionin treatment, consisting of nioxen this may restoration ur hair.

if you are going to dye your hair red you must make sure that it isnt oranged based
i dyed my hair a burgandy color and its base is purple
make sure your dye has a purple base because it will stay in longer
and it wont make you look gross
orange-reds could make your skin look uneven
but i have a very fair complexion
and i have a dark red color for my hair
and it looks great
just make sure you like what your getting
and get it done professionally
it always turns out better

It looks best if you dye your hair a color that sharply contrasts with your skin tone. If you have a light complexion, try dark brown or maybe even black if you're very pale-skinned. Go blonde or light brown if you are dark-skinned.

Red "goes away" very quickly, so unless you want multiple touch-ups don't go for it. Also, it usually goes orange if you're in the sun a lot.

Try a deeper tone with hidden highlights. Or, go to a hairstylist and ask what they think will look best. If they're an expert they'll be honest and tell you.

I think you should first try some temporary dye that you can experiment with different shades and see which looks best for you. then go get your hair dyed the color you fell in love with. Use color expressions shampoo to keep the dye from fading.

If you decide to go with red, it will fade no matter what! The dye just does that - every dye eventually fades. Consult a hair stylist or some hair magazines for some inspiring new hair duos.

Whatever you do do not go red.. any color but red.. if you don't like it. It's hard to get out. Go all blond or brown, but not red.
