My goal is to show Protestants the truth, that the Catholic Church is the one founded by Jesus (God in the flesh). If other Christians could know this then there would be no reason for them not to be in the Church that was founded by God.

I hate seeing Christianity so divided, so I propose a solution, namely all Christians should come back to the original Church. Why do people hate me for this and accuse me of attacking them? I am for perfect Christian unity, how is this attacking other Christians?

Mr.Mister- The Church in the bible is never called any of the things you have listed. The Church in the bible is only called, "The Church". Why? Because Jesus only founded one Church, not the over 33,000 Protestant religions of today that each have a different Jesus.

The reason they think you're attacking Christians when you show them what is wrong with the Protestant faith is because most Protestants do not know their faith well enough to protect it. They are not aware of the origin of their church, they are not aware of their church's basic doctrine, etc so when they are challenged, they can think of nothing more to do than say you're attacking them.

And the Jews would say why did you all have to run off and create 400 new religions. And the Muslims would say why can't we all be Muslim now. The Orthodox Christians and traditional Catholics would tell you your church is nothing like it once was anyway, may as well be a new religion. The Lutherans would tell you there wouldn't be any protestants if the Catholic church had never given people so many good reasons to break away and start a new church.

Besides you don't really want them all to be catholic. First of all all, there needs to be a limit on how many ignorant a$$holes we put in each church. Secondly the catholic church has a terrible shortage of clergy. They can't handle any more. Third, that religion isn't for everybody. Some people just don't like Catholics. They don't need a reason why so stop giving them one.

Dearest Seeker of Truth,

I assume from your name that you are truly seeking Truth. I will recommend further reading and then I will discuss your question. A book called “Restoration” by D. Thomas Lancaster, Chapter 2 has a good discussion (WITH bibliographies!) of the reasons the Gentiles separated themselves from the Jews in the first century. We were never intended to be separate, but were through very violent circumstances. These facts are not hidden and are so easy to prove, but have been covered over by the church and kept there by the apathy of believers. The Jews (both believers and non-believers in Jesus) were being persecuted and fleeing Rome and the Gentiles suddenly discovered “Hey, we don’t have to keep the Torah….” all at the same time. Imagine if you were a Roman Gentile believer and suddenly you became an enemy of the State because you kept Sabbath and went to the Synagogue and celebrated different holidays (they didn’t check the membership logs, they looked at your lifestyle). That’s why the Roman atholic church was born. It was for (Gentile) self-preservation. Other denominations branched off of that. As a sidenote, it was the same in Judaism, different branches, same religion (Sadducees, Pharisees, Kenonites, Essenes etc)

But the Scriptures testify to this: we joined Israel, we were “grafted in”, we became citizens with them. Not the other way around. They are the natural branch and we are the grafted in. How much more easily will the natural branch be grafted back in? And the scriptures testify to this: There is ONE Torah, for both Israel and the “aliens” who join her. There is coming a day when we will re-join her and most of us know absolutely nothing about what’s coming because we don’t understand the Torah. That’s Catholics, Protestants and Pentacostals. We are all in for a big surprise. But we are all going to be together. Its faith in Jesus that saves us, but faith will show itself by its deeds. But anyway, if I am to speak of the original “denomination” or it would have to be the church called “The Way”. It would more closely resemble Messianics than Catholics. (So why don't you come back to the original church?) :)

I really look at the person, not the denomination. Are you following Jesus or just a religion? What religion was Jesus? He was an Orthodox Jew! I’m not trying to convert anyone, that’s not in my power. I’m just saying, if we follow Him with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind and all our strength then people will see Him despite our denominational lines. But if you truly desire Truth, I would suggest you go back a little further than the Catholic Church.

I do not hate you. In fact I think trying to unite Christians is a great goal. However I disagree with your statement that the Catholic church was the original church. I do not believe that paul was the 1st pope. I don't believe there is supposed to be a pope. The early christians did not structure the church leadership as the catholic church does. That structure came from the roman empire. It has led to well intentioned popes making mistakes(infant baptism is one) that are continued to this very day. When the popes word contradicts the bible, I'll follow the bible.

You have a valid point. It ws the original church, but you won't get pentecostals believing that its even christian, they're so brainwashed.

Edit; I've read most of the posts, and I find it truly amazing that people expect you to change your religion for theirs, but would not even consider the reverse. You do realize, don't you, that many of these posters are the self-same people who tell you that you must become a christian, yet don't know where their religion came from.
And as for the rest of you. The Roman Catholic church was one of the first christian congregations in the Roman empire,(alongwith whatwe nowcall the messianics who followedjames, jesus' brother, not peter) hence Roman Catholic as opposed to The Coptic Church (Egyptian & Ethopian) · Eastern Orthodox · Greek Orthodox which started in other parts of the world at about the same time, compliments of Paul's travels. Get educated before you start calling someone else stupid.

Ok, first of all, the Catholic Church was founded by Peter, not Jesus.
Second, in the 10th or the 11th century AD, a guy named Martin Luther was tired of the corruption of the church,- indulgences, political power games, etc. and wrote his 95 theses nailed them to a church door. This stared the Lutheran movement, which was originally designed to get folk back to the Bible.
And throughout history as Christian movements moved away from the Bible, there's been a movement to get back to it and that's how we got :Baptists, Anabaptists, Wesleyans, Methodists.
etc, so on, ad infinitum
The Anglican Church came about because Henry the VIII had beri-berI( 'cause he didn't eat his veggies, which made him unable to produce a male heir to the throne,) and in his desire for a male heir, he went through six wives, and killed the Archbishop of Canterbury for not granting him divorces, (which is why he killed the women....) and thus was formed the Anglican Church with the King or Queen of england as it's head, and not the Pope.

I don't see why any Christian would HATE you for wanting everybody to join the (Roman) Catholic Church, but many will disagree strongly. They disagree with SOME of your Church's doctrines and practices, just as you probably disagree with some of theirs. By the way, some Churches might claim an organization as old or older than the Roman Catholic: the Greek Orthodox, the Armenian Orthodox, the Coptic Church. Unity of Spirit is more important than organizational unity.

If what you state were truth then The pope... whoever he may be at the time... could say with absolut certainty that he was going to go to heaven... no pope can make that claim. nor can any priest... And none have ever done so

It would be against the very teaching of the cult to do so.

Those of The Christian Faith know with certainty that they will have a place with God The Father in Heaven for all of eternity.

I have known this with absolute certainty for just over 6 yrs. Since the instant of my Salvation. This is God's Word to me... not the teaching of any man
. The RC cult was founded long after Christ's assention. It is not the first nor has it ever been the only anything. it has nothing to do with The True Church of which Christ is The Head.

As one of the Christian Faith I am not restricted in what I can or can not read or study relative to my worship of God... I can, and have read much of the RC works... Can you say you are permitted, honestly, to do the same with regard to The Word of God to His Faithful. Without permission from a man of the cult...no you can not... to do so would violate RC doctrin.

There have been many who never bowed to the corrupt dogma of the RC popes... From the first day of Christ's Chruch on earth to this day and there will always be those who know The Way, The Truth, and The Life which is Christ Jesus. and have a personal relationship with him with out any doctrin of man between God and man.

I will testify to this from The Truth of my salvation.

If you wish to choose free will over priest controle you may read my testimony at.

Dear seekthetruth:

The Slippery Slope of Protestantism?! - How dare you!

Your Catholic arrogance and Holier than Thou attitude is exactly why I left the church and became Protestant! - Please, tell me how a church that does not allow women to be Ordained or be married is superior. I would truly like to know biblical verse that defines that as Gods wish or that has Jesus stating that the capital "C" - Catholic Church is the only true CHRISTIAN CHURCH!

Please, the Catholic church is not the root. Jesus is the cornerstone and He DID NOT FOUND the Catholic church. Bible says we are to bre grafted into the branches. WHo are the branches? The JEWS!
1. Mary was NOT borne without sin.
2. God can only forgive sins, not priests.
3. NO such thing as purgatory.
4. Baby baptism
Et al.
I was a former Catholic. I know these to be true. Catholics DO NOT totally line up with the Bible.

No, the Catholic Religion is full of corruption and hypocrisy. The Catholic church misleads its members. "Come out of her my people..."

Catholisms focus more on tradition rather than Biblical truths. Per the Catholic Encyclopedia, they have changed the solemnity of the Sabbath to Sunday. Jesus Himself worshipped on the Sabbath. Why not follow Him? All the Protestants that worship on Sunday are following the false Sabbath the Catholics created.

Catholics baptize using sprinkles and oils, etc. yet Jesus, Himself was submerged during his baptism. Why do Catholics divert from Christ's example?

The Roman Catholic church practices too many errors and misleads the people.
