Just give your self time. Don't be in a rush to get another cat so soon. It's ok to cry a bit about the loss of a pet, they're part of the family.I know how terrible it is to lose a pet, remember that they lived a good life with you and that they're still in a good place: your heart and your memory.

That's horrible. My heart goes out to you. I would wait a bit to get another cat if you can, so she's not just a replacement. I don't think there's a good answer here. All you can do is cry and understand that death is part of life and cherish the time you had with them.

I'm sorry for the loss of your cats. I think that one of the best ways to deal with such a thing is to really allow yourself to grieve.

If you are comfortable, spend time with someone who understands you pain or even just have time to yourself. If you can, and think you can handle it, spend some time with another kitty. Talk to him and tell them about your kitties. It takes time to get used to the idea of them being gone. Sometimes you have to say it out loud to someone. It's okay to cry. Remember the fun times you had.

You may have to wait a while but bring out pictures of them when you feel ready. Some day you will have another kitty. Allow yourself to accept their love and love them freely. It will not be disloyal to your other pets.

What you're feeling is normal! You've lost 2 of your 'babies' in a cruelly short space of time. My heart goes out to you!

It's up to you..if you're the kind of person who needs an immediate replacement..go for it!

It's kind of like, you'll never get over your lost love until you find your new love.

I'm an avowed 'fur-therapy' junky. I love cats & dogs. Now I'm a traveller I can't have my own pet, so I just adopt the neighbour's animals for the duration of my stay.

Give your heart the time it needs to grieve, & don't be impatient with yourself.

Take care Softie!

I'm sorry to hear this news. That is horrible, and I know I would be devastated. You will never get over it, unfortunately, especially if you've had them a long time. They are family. That woul be like getting over the death of your Mom by going down to the shelter and finding a new one; quite impossible. It would be nice, however, when you think you're ready, to give your love to a new little kitty that needs it. You just can't replace them.

I'm sorry for your loss sweetie..I just lost my kitty too..he was 16 yr. old. We did expect this to happen with his age and all..We felt lonely without him and planted flowers on his grave and visit him often. We adopted a new chihuahua puppy the same color as our kitty and he enjoys playing with kitty's toys..I don't think of it as a replacement for our kitty...we just felt lonely without him..
again, I'm sorry for your loss..:(

Time really heals. We have a little flower garden in our back yard where we barried ours. Flowers are like a new beginning every time they bloom.
